✨✧ Magnum ForceAre You Ready For The Weekend/Share My Love With You ... 7-inch
Kelli-Arts, Early 80s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
2 sides of work by this oft-overlooked late Chicago soul group! The real gem here is "Share My Love With You" – a sublime harmony soul ballad, and the kind of track that rivals the best of the New Jersey vocal group scene of the early 70s! A wonderful track that should have been huge – arranged and produced by the triple threat team of Otis Leavill, Willie Henderson, and Carl Davis! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Magnum ForceSay I Do (voc, inst) ... 7-inch
Now Sound, Early 80s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Sublime harmony soul from Chicago – a real late bloomer of a group, and one who cut some excellent work that was much more in a sweet 70s mode! "Say I Do" starts with a spoken bit in a deep voice, then rolls into a mode that has the group trading off vocals during the verses – but coming together nicely on the mellow soul chorus! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Lalo SchifrinMagnum Force – The Original Score ... CD
Aleph, 1973. Used ... Out Of Stock
Pure 70s genius from Lalo Schifrin – and the lost soundtrack to the second Dirty Harry film! Magnum Force never received a proper soundtrack album at the time – and although we've waited over 30 years, this overstuffed package finally gives the Schifrin score it's due – serving up a great variety of short tunes that fully illustrated the musical genius that made the Dirty Harry films so great. The set's got a total of 22 tracks in all – and goes way beyond the Dirty Harry Anthology sets to include some of the darker, moodier numbers from Magnum Force – some great shorter tunes that sit nicely next to the more famous funky themes! Titles include "Warm Enough", "Last Dance In Sausalito", "Early Is Late", "Briggs", "Magnum Force", "Stakeout", "Execution Squad", "The Bullet", "Potrero Hill", "The Faceless Assassin", "The Crooks", and "Harry's Ostinato". La Funk MobTribulations Extra Sensorielles ... LP
Mo Wax/Love Supreme (France), 1994. New Copy (reissue)... $25.99 28.99 About March 29, 2024 (delayed)
One of our favorite Mo Wax singles, from the label's heyday, or at least our favorite period, when they still had the Swifty graphics with the band down one side of the cover. Funky French club cuts, from the days just before Bob Sinclair and the Yellow Productions folks took it to the big time, with a heavy house influence showing, but a lot more going on here too, Latin beats and jazzy sensibilities as well as tough hip hop and break influenced funk showing up! 6 tracks: "La Doctoresse", "Motor Bass Get Phunked Up", "Suspense", "Ravers Suck Our Sound And Get F*ck", "357 Magnum Force" and "Blunt Konnection". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ VariousSupafunkanova Vol 2 – Badass Funk Classics From The Disco Boogie Era Compiled By DJs Joey Negro & Sean P ... LP
Z Records (UK), Late 1970s/Early 1980s. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
A fantastic explosion of funk, soul, and club – put together at a level that may well even top the first Supafunkanova collection! As before, the cuts here are all super-rare and obscure – but all kick heavy ass when it comes to tight rhythms and catchy clubby grooves – never straight disco or mainstream boogie – but borrowing plenty from the mainstream to turn out cuts with a really raw, underground vibe! There's a slight touch of hip hop in the mix – more that old school skating mode – and the whole thing definitely shows Joey's decades in cutting great cuts for the dancefloor – and his big love of the best groups from the hinterlands. 2LP set features the titles "Drive Me Insane" by Airplay, "Betcha Got A Dude On The Side" by Star Quality & Class, "Cool Out" by Magnum Force, "Spunk In The Funk" by Blue Denim Band, "Walk" by Sam Culley Band, "Sound Reason (Joey Negro edit)" by Splash, "Making Love Will Keep You Fit" by Brenda Harris, "Let's Get High" by Nice & Tight Band, "Easton Assassin" by Sunburst Band, and "Super Stimulus" by Stimulus. LP, Vinyl record album
