✨✧ Love CommitteeCheaters Never Win/Where Will It End ... 12-inch
Gold Mind, 1977. Very Good- ... Out Of Stock
"Cheaters" is a fantastic club track – with great east coast Baker-Harris-Young production, great harmonies, and a groove that's half harmony soul and half disco! This 12" single features extended disco mixes of both tracks, too! 12-inch, Vinyl record
(In a Salsoul sleeve with wear.)

✨✧ Love CommitteeLove Committee (with bonus tracks) ... CD
T-Electric/PTG (Netherlands), 1980. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A nicely grooving soul album from Love Committee – who are probably best known for their earlier disco songs, but we really dig this 1980 self-titled album for the mellower numbers – the best of which have a smooth midtempo groove that's as tasty as ever! A few of the numbers were co-written by Eddie Levert of The O'Jays, an indication of the style LC were going for, and they hit it nicely! Titles include "Love People Theme", "Ain't It a Shame", "You Are the One for Me","Boogie Papers", "Who Can We Trust", "I Wanna Make Love to You", and "I Made A Mistake". This Vinyl Masterpiece edition has 2 bonus tracks: longer versions of "I Made A Mistake" and "Boogie Papers". CD

✨✧ VariousBeats & Breaks – Just A Mellow Groove ... CD
Solid (Japan), 1970s. Used ... Out Of Stock
Lots of beats and breaks – and the groove is a lot less mellow than you'd guess from the title! Tracks are pulled from some of the coolest indie labels of the 70s – Brunswick, HDH, and Salsoul – and the focus is on tracks that have lots of heavy drums and sharp changes – of the sort that were sampled heavily back in the day, but which also make for a nice batch of upbeat soul numbers too! Yet the collection is way more than just a sample-based collection of soul – as most of these numbers are pretty unusual, and not the kind of soul tracks that show up often on other compilations – and they link together surprisingly well, given the different sources from Chicago, Detroit, and New York. Titles include "Girl I Need You" by The Artistics, "I'm Bugging Your Phone" by The Smith Connection, "Seeing You Through The Eyes Of A Blindman" by Satisfaction Unlimited, "Lovin You Is Killin Me" by Moment Of Truth, "Where Will It End (Walter Gibbons mix)" by Love Committee, "I Got It" by New York Port Authority, "Love Factory" by Eloise Laws, "Breakaway" by First Choice, "Taster Of The Honey" by The Jones Girls, and "You Don't Have To Go (edit)" by The Chi-Lites. CD
(Out of print, includes obi.)
