Led ZeppelinLed Zeppelin II (remastered edition) ... CD
Atlantic, 1969. Used Gatefold ... $5.99
One of the most supremely classic of all classic hard rock albums! As huge as the debut was, Led Zeppelin II is the record that proved that the group were going to be in it for the long haul – with a righteous raw power that's still being felt all these many decades later! Nobody else could touch this one – and the album is filled with iconic cuts that include "Whole Lotta Love", "Ramble On", and"Heartbreaker" – plus the ridiculous Bonzo showcase "Moby Dick", and "Bring It On Home". CD
(Out of print, sleeve has some light edgewear.)

Led ZeppelinSong Remains The Same ... CD
Swan Song/Warner, 1976. Used 2 CDs ... $6.99
A live album, but one that's every bit as essential to the Led Zeppelin catalog as any of their studio albums from the 70s! In fact, the album may well be more important on its own – as it marked a real high point for the double-length live album in rock music – not just because it features lavish packaging and great presentation – but also because, like the film, it's filled with really long, unusual takes of the group's classics – most of which diverge very strongly from their studio versions! The real highlight here is the set's classic "Moby Dick", which features one of the greatest drum solos ever set to wax – and other tunes include "Rain Song", "Whole Lotta Love", "Stairway To Heaven", "No Quarter", and "Dazed & Confused". ✨✧ Led ZeppelinLed Zeppelin III ... CD
Atlantic, 1970. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The third in Led Zeppelin's spectacular run of early albums – each one either matching or topping its predecessor, depending on one's personal favorite – and a record with an influence that's as massive as the sound! The record's got a pair of of Zep's best-remembered songs in "Immigrant Song" and their take on the traditional "Gallows Pole", but the whole thing is great – and a great balance of their earlier bombast with a lot more acoustic moments. Other tracks include "Friends", "Celebration Day", "Tangerine" and "Hats Off (To Roy Harper)". CD

✨✧ Led ZeppelinHouses Of The Holy (deluxe 2CD edition) ... CD
Atlantic, 1973. Used 2 CDs ... Out Of Stock
Led Zeppelin at peak power – mixing hard rock bombast with deep, genuine love for blues and folk guitars! Houses Of The Holy is the essential the blueprint for countless imitators to come – but it's also got smarts, subtleties and creative ambitious that's just plain lost on the watered wannabes that floated up in Zeppelin's wake. Titles include "The Crunge", "Over The Hills & Far Away", "The Song Remains The Same", "The Rain Song", "Dancing Days", "Dyer Maker", "No Quarter", and "The Ocean". CD

✨✧ Led ZeppelinLed Zeppelin (deluxe 2CD edition) ... CD
Atlantic, 1969. Used 2 CDs ... Out Of Stock
One of the most monumental debuts in rock history – a record that hit the world like a led zeppelin, and left an impression for years to come! Led Zeppelin pretty much took over rock right from the beginning – which isn't too surprising, given that Jimmy Page had an in-demand guitar heavy for years already – but the power of this debut is still astonishing after all these years – a blistering blend of bluesy roots, psych fuzz, and razor-sharp instrumental dexterity! The whole thing's a gem – and titles include "Good Times Bad Times", "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" "You Shook Me", "Dazed And Confused", "Your Time Is Gonna Come", "Black Mountain Side", and "I Can't Quit You Baby". Deluxe adds a second disc of live material. CD
(Out of print. Gatefold cover has an 1" tear at spine.)

Black SabbathTechnical Ecstasy ... CD
Warner, 1976. Used ... $6.99
The cover here looks a bit slicker than some of the other Black Sabbath albums of the 70s – but the sound is anything but, and still flies the flag of all the greatness the group had to offer! The set was recorded at the famous Criteria Studios in Miami – home to some great soul sessions in the early part of the decade – and Tommy Iommi gives the band a sharp edge in the studio, bringing the guitars up and Ozzy's vocals into a nice sort of focus – reminding the world that Sabbath can still kick the ass of newcomers like AC/DC when needed. And like late 70s material by Led Zeppelin, which some purists of the time tend to dismiss – from the backward perspective of 40 years, the album sounds pretty darn great to our ears! Titles include "She's Gone", "Dirty Women", "It's Alright", "Gypsy", "Back Street Kids", "You Won't Change Me", and "All Moving Parts". CD

VariousRock En Avandaro – Valle De Bravo ... CD
Orfeon (Mexico), 1972. Used ... $4.99
An overview of some of the hippest Mexican rock of the early 70s – put together as a tribute to the country's first rock festival in 1971! Most of the work here is pretty hard edged – tunes with very tight guitars and a slightly bluesy undercurrent – kind of a Mexican equivalent of the Cream/Led Zeppelin/Deep Purple era of the UK – with a fair bit of English language lyrics on most tunes. A few of the rhythms are nicely tight, and almost funky at points – and some of the groups bring in some added horns, which creates almost a jazz rock vibe – especially on work by The Soul Masters, who are clearly our favorites here! The Soul Masters cuts show a dose of James Brown influence too – with some really romping rhythms and super tight horns on tracks that include "New Man", "Jenny My Love", "Libertad", and "I Feel I'm Losing You". Other groups and titles include "Di Por Que" and "Tal Vez" by The Love Army, "Roaming" and "Everyday Face" by La Fachada De Piedra, and "Buscando Alrededor" by Free Minds. CD
(Out of print, packaged in a great little LP style sleeve.)
