Great work from this lovely vocalist from the 60s! The record features a core group of backing by the Ronnie Brown trio, plus some larger arrangements by Lincoln Mayorga – and the sound is nice and soulful, with a bit of a jazzy touch – in the manner of some of Nancy Wilson's work at Capitol. This series keeps on getting better and better – and this fourth installment may well be the best illustration to date of the birth of soul music!
