Tommy James & The Shondells —
HankyPanky ... LP Roulette, Mid 60s. Near Mint- ...
$14.99
We're sure you know the group from their mega-hit oldie title cut – a garagey tune with a very catchy hook – but you might also appreciate them for the soulful finish they put on other tracks on this set, clearly inspired by groups on Atlantic, and going for a blue-eyed soul approach that they're not always known for. Titles include "Soul Searchin Baby", "Lots Of Pretty Girls", "Shake A Tail Feather", "Good Lovin", "The Lover", and "Love Makes The World Go Round". LP, Vinyl record album
(Mono pressing. Cover has light wear, a cutout hole, a bit of waviness on the spine, and a hype sticker.)
All the hits! Includes "Crimson & Clover", "HankyPanky", "I Think We're Alone Now", "Sweet Cherry Wine", "Mony Mony", "Crystal Blue Persuasion", and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Orange label stereo pressing. Cover has light wear.)

Dexter Gordon —
Clubhouse ... LP Blue Note, 1965/1979. Near Mint- ...
Temporarily Out Of Stock
Rare Blue Note work from Dexter Gordon – an album that was recorded during Gordon's legendary run for the label in the 60s, but not issued until a brief vinyl pressing nearly 15 years later! The record's got Gordon vamping in tight hardbop formation – a sound that's strongly 60s Blue Note all the way through, and which shows the great control that the label helped bring to Dex's music – giving him new focus and energy to take off on much freer flights later in the 60s. Other players on the date include Freddie Hubbard on trumpet, Barry Harris on piano, Billy Higgins on drums, and Bob Cranshaw on bass – and Hubbard's trumpet is an especially welcome element here on the more upbeat numbers. Titles include "HankyPanky", "Jodi", "Lady Iris B", "Clubhouse", and "Devilette". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original 70s white b label pressing. Cover has a cutout hole and light wear, but looks great overall.)
Although Pablo Beltran Ruiz is better known for more traditional material, this groovy album from the 60s has him moving through a great batch of 60s pop and Latin tracks – and it's got a wonderful lively sound! The album kicks off with a great instrumental version of Joe Cuba's "El Pito", rolls into a nice version of "Strangers In The Night", hits a go go version of "Batman", and moves through groovy instrumental versions of "HankyPanky" and "Lara's Theme". The whole album's packaged in a great cover, with a lot of "op art" imagery and some very weird typographical stylings! LP, Vinyl record album
