✨✧ ActionRolled Gold ... LP
Guerssen (Spain), Late 60s. New Copy ... Just Sold Out!
Really fantastic sounds from The Action – a set that maybe has them stepping a bit from mod to psych, but still with all the catchier elements of their earlier work! There's a very open-minded set of production going on here – a bit like the shift that Small Faces took with Ogden's Nut Gone Flake, but without the sillier sides of that record – and the simple lineup of guitar-based instrumentation somehow hits this richer sense of majesty – maybe a bit like The Hollies' shifting their sound at a similar point. Reg King is fantastic on vocals, really bringing a subtle edge to the music – and titles include "Icarus", "Love Is All", "Strange Roads", "Brain", "I'm A Stranger", "Look At The View", "Climbing Up The Wall", "Come Around", and "In My Dream". Baris MancoDunden Bugune (picture disc) ... LP
Guerssen (Spain), 1971. New Copy ... $29.99 33.98
An incredible Turkish psych album from Baris Manco – totally riveting work that blends some traditional Turkish influences with the panoramic psychedelia of the late 60s & early 70s – all of which makes for lots of fuzzed out rock-funk, and a fantastic melodic sensibility! The most fascinating aspect of the album is its way of blending far out sounds from the East and the West – and the vocals are effectively melodic amidst the tuneful backings – with Turkish and Eastern accents, hand percussion and drums, and guitars that mix rock up nicely! This rare album had a troubled release history from the beginning, so it's all the more joyful to have it now – and titles include the great single "Daglar Daglar I", plus "Kirpiklerin Ok Ok Eyke", "Kagizman", "Kol Dugmerleri", "Derile", "Iste Hendek Iste Deve". "Seher Vakti", "Anadolu", and "Lory". LP, Vinyl record album
(Hand-numbered limited edition of 500!)

✨✧ TapimanTapiman ... LP
Guerssen (Spain), 1971. New Copy (reissue)... $28.99
A heady set of hard rock from 70s Spain – served up by a trio who remind us again that sometimes in the world of guitar-based music, the smaller groups can often make a louder sound than the bigger ones! These guys manage to do plenty with just guitar, bass, and drums – and the album's filled with searing guitar solos from Max Sunyer, who later joined Iceberg – driven by heavy drums from Tapi, ex-Maquina – all rumbling along with heavy bass from Pepe. Titles include "Driving Shadow", "Moonbeam", "No Chance", "No Control", "Don't Ask Why", "Practice", "Paris", and "Wrong World". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes a reproduction of the original promo poster, and an insert with notes.)

✨✧ Haymarket SquareMagic Lantern ... LP
Chaparral/Guerssen (Spain), 1969. New Copy (reissue)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A record as fantastically trippy and wild as you might guess from the cover – served up by this obscure Chicago group of the late 60s, and originally used as the soundtrack for the Baron & Bailey Light Circus! Gloria Lambert contributes vocals to the group, and her strong female lead maybe rivals the power of Grace Slick or some of her more famous contemporaries – over the group's monstrous work on drums from John Kowalski, searing guitar from Marc Swenson, and bass from Robert Homa. Homa and Swenson also contribute vocals – and there's a rock-solid quality to the record that really rivals some of the best west coast gems of the period – which makes this lost treasure even more worth discovering! All tracks are nice and long, filled with great instrumental passages – and titles include "Amapola", "Ahimsa", "Elevator", "Funeral", "Phatasmagoria", and a great long jamming take of "Train Kept A Rollin".
