Although GeneChandler is best known for his 60's Chicago soul hits, he also did some great modern soul tracks right around the turn of the 80's. This cut is one of them, and it's a sweet midtempo duet with Jaime Lynn that features some excellent mellow arrangements by Sonny Sanders. Gene's voice is as great as ever, and the production is very nice. 7-inch, Vinyl record
Excellent psychedelic soul from the Chicago scene that circulated around GeneChandler at the end of the 60s. Gene produced this one for his Mister Chand label, and Richard Evans provided some nice deep bass-y arrangements – while Simtec & Wylie shout and groove along in their best style! 7-inch, Vinyl record
Dang, is this great Chicago soul! We don't know much about Marvin other than the odd single here and there, but it's gems like these that will keep us looking for his work. Both sides are wonderful – loping along in a Carl Davis groove, with vocals that are as great as any from the time by GeneChandler or Jerry Butler! 7-inch, Vinyl record
