Heady sounds from Gaslamp Killer – tunes that are as fuzzy as they are funky – which might be something that we'd say about the man himself! As with other productions, there's definitely a focus on the low end and lo-fi here – but never as a lack of anything, or as a mistake – as the music clearly knows how to make the most out of distortion, and use it to create just the right sort of rumble to go along with the right funky currents! Malcolm Catto guests on the album on one track – and the music is definitely in the legacy he first began years ago on Mo Wax – and other guests include Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Heliocentrics, and Gonjasufi. Titles include "Good Morning", "Pathetic Dreams", "Gammalaser Kill", "Shred You To Bits", "The Butcher", "Residual Tingles", "Warm Wind", and "Haleva". LP, Vinyl record album
(2nd edition – includes download.)

Eilon PazDust & Grooves – Adventures In Record Collection (hardcover) ... Book
Dust & Grooves/Ten Speed Press, 2014. New Copy ... $11.99 50.00
A beautiful photography expedition into some the world's foremost vinyl collections, and interviews with the collectors! Dust & Grooves is an amazing tome for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it's filled with mouth watering, large scale, full color photos of some the most incredible record rooms you'll ever be lucky enough to see. Beyond that, the interviews really get to the heart and soul of what drives the record diggers themselves. It's a varied bunch, including some famous artists and DJs like Gilles Peterson and King Britt, but many more private, but just as passionate collectors. Dust & Grooves creator Eilon Paz is of them – one of us, actually – and his labor of love here is completely wonderful! 400+ pages, in a heavy duty coffee table book format – with a forward by The RZA, and interviews with fellow bonafide creative heavies/record collectors Gilles Peterson, Four Tet, The Gaslamp Killer, Stones Throw/Now Again honcho Egon and many more.
