✨✧ Freddie ScottLonely Man ... LP
Columbia, Late 60s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
An excellent album of uptown soul from Freddie – recorded after his work for Colpix, with arrangements by Belford Hendricks and Garry Sherman, in a sweet 60s New York mode! Freddie's vocals are great – much more mature than before, with a mixture of deep and sophisticated soul that really sends the tracks. Titles include "Lonely Man", "Giving You My Heart", "Blow Wind", "One More Time Before Igo", "I'm Too Far Gone To Turn Around", "Just One Look", and "I'll Try Again". LP, Vinyl record album
(360 Sound stereo pressing. Cover has light aging and some splitting in the top seam.)

✨✧ Stanley ClarkeModern Man ... LP
Columbia/Nemperor, 1978. Very Good+ ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A bit more high concept than before for Stanley Clarke – almost a suite of sorts, but one that still has some great standout tunes in the mix! Although Clarke used to bring his higher concepts to bear in the space of a single song, this one's more of a full exploration of the character in the title – served up at the best moments with more soul than on previous albums from Stanley, some nicely tuneful tracks that almost get a bit funky at points. There's a bit of vocals on the record – courtesy of Dee Dee Bridgewater and others – and guests include Freddie Hubbard, Stan Getz, Harvey Mason, Tom Scott, and Airto. Titles include "More Hot Fun", "Slow Dance", "He Lives On", "Dayride", "Got To Find My Own Place", "Closing Statement", and "A Serious Occasion". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has light wear.)
