✨✧ Franco BixioEd Ora – Raccomanda L'Anima A Dio (with bonus track) ... CD
Digitmovies (Italy), 1968. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A very early soundtrack from Italian great Franco Bixio – done when he was just a lad of 18, before his fame with Vince Tempera – but with a sound that puts the young Franco on equal footing with the best of the spaghetti western generation! The score begins with a groovy vocal tune – "Just A Coward", sung in English by Mary Ushua – then moves into the kind of material that you'd expect from the period – but sometimes inflected with instrumentation that is almost more 60s than western, especially on some of the tracks where electric guitar has a bit more prominence. The CD marks the first time that most of this material is issued commercially – an 19 track set that features two versions of "Just A Coward". CD
(Limited to 300 copies!)

VariousTidbeats – Lots Of Forgotten Surplus Audio Tracks From The Vaults Of Cinevox Records ... CD
Cinevox (Italy), 1960s/1970s. New Copy 2CD ... $24.99 33.99
An amazing treasure for fans of Italian soundtrack music – the fresh discovery of rare material from the vaults of Cinevox Records – one of the most important Italian soundtrack labels of the 60s and 70s! All of the music here is previously unreleased – and runs from full songs to snippets, all laid out in this really beautiful way – so that the package is not only presenting some great grooves from Cinevox, but also tracing a history of Italian cinematic styles – moving back and forth from the 60s through the 70s, with a superb presentation that really has the music sounding tremendous in this setting! These aren't clunky discards, but really wonderful tunes – unused extra material from soundtrack giants who include Piero Umiliani, Armando Trovajoli, Riz Ortolani, Giorgio Gaslini, Piero Piccioni, Gianni Ferrio, Franco Bixio, Enrico Simonetti, and many others – laid out here in a limited package, with 161 titles in all. ✨✧ VariousSpeedball Experience – Obscure Pop Jazz From Early 70's Italian Music Library ... CD
Giaguaro/Fifth Dimension (Germany), 1970s. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
One of the first collections to offer up the sorts of rare gems that have made Italian sound library records so worth digging for over the years – initially a 90s package, done before there was much information provided on the studios and players, and with the kind of porno cover that was initially used to sell grooves like this to the wider global scene of funk collectors! Forget the package, though, because the cuts are what matter most – an assortment of different funky numbers that are heavy on tight drums, funky basslines, and sweet keyboards – from mysterious sound library creators who include Sandro Brugnolini, Franco Bixio, Stefano Torossi, Raskovich, and Narassa. Titles include "Polyphony", "Diamonds", "Abiente Elegante", "La Gang", "Diatomea", "Capricorno", "Sweet Beat", and "Schizzo". CD
