✨✧ David BowieFame/Right ... 7-inch
RCA, 1975. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
Two wonderful cuts from David Bowie's Philly soul period! "Fame" is his classic collaboration with John Lennon – a tune with very wry lyrics, and a wonderfully funky groove too – one you'll recognize right away! "Right" is one that we love even more – a subtle bit of genius from that time when Bowie was recording at Sigma Sound with Luther Vandross – full of soul, and a surprisingly new deep side of his sound! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Jimmy HughesSteal Away/Lolly Pops, Lace & Lipstick ... 7-inch
Fame, Early 60s. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
A pivotal single in the development of southern soul! Jimmy was one of the first great discoveries of the legendary Rick Hall, and "Steal Away" is an undisputed classic that put Hughes and Hall on the map! The track has incredible vocals, lifted a bit from Solomon Burke, but also with a raspy southern style that had yet to be exploited fully by 60s singers. Great stuff! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ James BrownSuperbad, Superslick (part 1)/Hot ... 7-inch
Polydor, 1975. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
"Superbad, Superslick" is an excellent funky number from the mid 70s, and proof that James was still going strong! The track has a mellow snapping easy funk groove, with some great bubbling keyboards, and very positive lyrics from James. "Hot" is pretty great too – with a sound that's a direct rip off of David Bowie's fame! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(In a Polydor sleeve.)

✨✧ CaressFill Me Up (Heart To Heart) (double a-side single) ... 7-inch
Roulette, 1976. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A sweet bit of disco, with a wonderful hook! We've never been sure if this Caress is the same group that went onto record later for P&P Records fame, but the tune's got these sweeping strings, falsetto vocals, and a nicely rhythmic pulse that all share real P&P touches – even if Peter Brown or Patrick Adam's names aren't on the credits! Written by Gregg Diamond, and a really nice little tune! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(White label promo.)

✨✧ Mar-KeysLast Night/Night Before (Satellite pressing) ... 7-inch
Satellite, Early 60s. Very Good- ... Out Of Stock
A bit of soul history!!!! This was one of the first-ever singles issued by the early Satellite label that later became Stax. The record was their first big hit – and the fame of the single brought them into conflict with another label called Satellite, who told them they had to change their name. 7-inch, Vinyl record
(A-side label has small letters in marker.)
