Two of the best cuts ever from this underground club act of the 70s – back to back on a 12" single! "Give Me The Sunshine" is their real calling card – a slow-stepping club number that's almost smooth enough to work for steppers, but funkier at the core too – nice and long, with a chorus that just won't quit! "I'm Back For More" is a tune that was covered more famously later by Al Johnson and Jean Carne – but which is taken here at a great slow funky pace by the group themselves! 12-inch, Vinyl record

A great groove from singer Gregory Porter – the first tune that really brought him to our attention – making a debut appearance here on vinyl! The original of "1960 What" is plenty great – running for over 12 minutes, and building in this jazzy groove that's really wonderful – topped by vocals from Porter that almost rank with some of Gil Scott-Heron's best in the 70s! The remix tries for a bit more of a contemporary rhythm – nice enough, but we're more than happy just to have the original version on wax. 12-inch, Vinyl record

Incredible soul jazz from the great Pharoah Sanders – two great numbers from his post-Impulse Records years! "You've Got To Have Freedom" is maybe one of the greatest cuts that Sanders ever did during this time – a long-spun, really anthemic number that has this fast modal groove, rising vocals, and a tremendous tenor solo in the middle! The flipside features his own take on the Marvin Gaye tune "Got To Give It Up" – done as a funky instrumental, with a bit more electricity than you might expect – but still a very searing tenor solo in the middle! 12-inch, Vinyl record
