Tito PuenteLa Epoca De Oro De Tito Puente ... LP
RCA, 1960. Very Good+ ... $18.99
A unique album by Tito Puente – and one of the best we've heard from his years for RCA! The groove here is very hard – and there's a strong Cuban groove that really drives most of the tunes, with Tito's percussion really turned up a fair bit in the mix! There's a fair bit of tracks that roll along in a hard mambo or guaguanco mode – and even though there's vocals on many numbers, the real focus here is on the percussion. Titles include "Con Sandunga", "Cua Cua", "Dance Mania", "Guancona", "Una Mujer", "Tamanco", "Separala Tambien", and "A Gozar Timbero". LP, Vinyl record album
(Black label 1968 stereo pressing, with deep groove!)
