The Hackett Horn gets a great spotlight here – in a classic mid 50s LP that pulls together earlier 78s recorded by Bobby at the end of the 30s! Modes are mostly traditional, but Hackett's cornet work really shines throughout – bursting out of mid-sized groups that are often driven by a fair bit of rhythm on guitar from
Eddie Condon, and which feature other horn work on saxes, trombone, and trumpet. CD features 16 tracks in all, with better fidelity than you'd get from the original 78 rpm singles – and titles include "At The Jazz Band Ball", "Sunrise Serenade", "Ja-Da", "Embraceable You", "That's How Dreams Should End", "Jammin The Waltz", "Clementine", and "Doin The New Low Down".
