Nathan Davis QuintetTheme From Zoltan/Mister E ... 7-inch
Saba/Wallen Bink (Germany), 1965. New Copy (pic cover)... $14.99 24.99
Nathan Davis is one of our all-time favorite saxophone players – and he sounds tremendous here in the company of trumpeter Woody Shaw, as the pair both take on Shaw's early "Zoltan" composition, with help from Larry Young on piano! The flipside features an even bolder number – the Davis composition "Mister E", with some very fierce work from Young on the piano – a really surprising change from his usual organ work of the time! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Really wonderful pressing – done from the original master tapes! Limited edition too.)

Connie StevensTic Toc/Keep Growing Strong ... 7-inch
Bell/Measured Mile (UK), 1970. New Copy ... $11.99 14.99
Connie Stevens is best known for pop work early in the 60s – but here, she sounds wonderfully soulful – grooving strongly over the gliding charms of the cool back/forth rhythms of "Tic Toc"! The tune's got strings over a romping groove – one that's maybe more late 60s mod than you'd guess from the date – and which has Connie sounding very different than usual. "Keep Going Strong" is soulful too, but in a slower paced mode – as the tune is a very early reading of the Thom Bell classic "Betcha By Golly Wow"! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Billy GarnerI Got Some (parts 1 & 2) ... 7-inch
New Day/BGP (UK), Early 70s. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A break you can't live without – served up on the amazing intro to Billy Garner's classic "I Got Some"! The tune's one that you'll recognize from a few famous samples, but to our ears it sounds best here in the original – a badass funky soul tune with all elements right, tight, and outta site! 7-inch, Vinyl record
