✨✧ Barney KesselSwingin' Party At Contemporary ... LP
Contemporary, 1960. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A tight little set from Barney – recorded in 1960 at a back room studio at Contemporary with a small live audience! Kessel and his guitar are joined by Marvin Jenkins on piano and flute, Gary Peacock on bass and Ron Lundberg on drums – and the feel is easily swinging, in that mode that had Kessel opening up his playing a lot as the 60s approached. The album contains six songs including Milt Jackson's "Bluesology", Clifford Brown's "Joy Spring", Charlie Parker's "Now's The Time", Ahmad Jamal's "New Rhumba", Marvin Jenkin's "Miss Memphis", as well the standard "Lover Man". LP, Vinyl record album
(Black label pressing with deep groove. Cover has ring & edge wear.)
