Serge Blenner —
La Vogue ... LP Sky/Bureau B (Germany), 1980. New Copy (reissue)...
A really cool keyboard set from Serge Blenner – issued during the glory days of the German Sky Records label, but with a vibe that's a bit different than most of their other releases! Blenner works on an assortment of keyboard and electronic sources – but with a sound that's maybe more Sheffield than Hamburg, especially as there's some great use of darkness and distortion in the mix – less clean electronics than some of his Sky contemporaries, which creates a very cool, moody sound throughout! The album has eight instrumental tracks – each a numbered "Phrase" by Serge. LP, Vinyl record album
Overlooked electronic genius from Serge Blenner – an artist whose name and title might sound a bit French, but who recorded this set in the Hamburg underground at the start of the 80s! The work here is a nice bridge between earlier Sky Records modes and the rising tide of the German new wave – especially those corners of that scene that have gotten a lot of attention in the newly-titled cold wave generation of the time! The tunes are all instrumental, and nice and spare – with maybe elements that hearken back to the analogue electronics of very early Human League and Cabaret Voltaire – tuneful and song-based, but still really moody and dark too. Titles include "Derivatif", "Magazin Frivole", "Envoutement", "A L'Ouest", and "Polyphase". LP, Vinyl record album
Brian Eno/Moebius/Roedelius —
After The Heat ... LP Sky/Bureau B (Germany), 1978. New Copy (reissue)...
Probably the best of the Eno/Cluster collaborations – and a damn great record that's probably one of Eno's last great efforts of the 70s! The record has a beautifully spacey sound, with spare analog electronics that have a perfect German 70's feel – flowing out with an Eno-tuned sense of grace, and made even better by lyrics from Brian on a few of the album's best tracks! The singing style here is in that same beautiful deadpan machine-like mode used on Another Green World – and those tracks are easily up there with his best vocal work on his own albums. Titles include "The Belldog", "Broken Head", "Light Arms", "Old Land", and "Oil". LP, Vinyl record album
Conrad Schnitzler —
Gold ... LP Marginal Talent/Bureau B (Germany), Mid 70s. Near Mint- ...
Out Of Stock
Beautiful sound textures from Conrad Schnitzler – even more personal and more evocative than work by most of his contemporaries! Elements of Cluster or Moebius echo through these tunes – but the sound is often much more abstract – never noisy, but not always concerned with a tune either – very scene-setting and poetic, with a sense of warmth even when the electronics are a bit dark and stark! Reissue features notes from Asmus Tietchens – whose own music clearly owes a lot to this moment in Schnitzler's career. LP, Vinyl record album

Gunter Schickert —
Nachtfalter ... LP Bureau B (Germany), 2018. New Copy (reissue)...

A surprising new set from Gunter Schickert – a 70s Krautrock giant who's probably best known for his work on the Brain label – stepping out here with a sound that makes us feel as if the decades haven't passed at all! The album's named after a moth, who drifted into the studio during the recording of the music – and it's got this dreamy quality that revels in the kind of echoey, abstracted guitar work that Gunter's always done so well – layered with additional electronics and equally abstracted drums from Andreas Spechtl – then taken into very moody territory. Titles include "Nocturnus", "Ceiling", "Floor", "Light", "Wohin", and "Reflection Of The Future". LP, Vinyl record album
