Bob DylanAnother Side of Bob Dylan (180 gram mono pressing) ... LP
Columbia/Sundazed, 1964. New Copy (reissue)... $26.99 28.98
Bob's fourth record, and close runner up to Freewheelin' as the masterpiece of this early stage of his career. While the overly arch Times They Are A Changin' pretty much stood as the cornerstone of classifiable folk rock at the time, Another Side is just that. Dense, elliptical, and downright surreal at times, with some of the protesty stuff that made the media so happy & hungry, but much more layered and poetic. Another Side is also much more reverent of and indebted to the Harry Smith field recordings that Bob studied so hard, the stuff that finally caught on with the general public in the early 90s. Titles include "Spanish Harlem Incident", "It Ain't Me Babe", "Ballad In Plain D", "Black Crow Blues", "I Don't Believe You", "Motorpsycho Nitemare", "To Ramona", "Chimes Of Freedom", "My Back Pages", and "I Shall Be Free No 10". Bob DylanBob Dylan (180 gram mono pressing) ... LP
Columbia/Sundazed, 1962. New Copy ... $26.99 28.98
Sure, the young Bob Dylan might look a bit hokey on the cover – but he's already out there way ahead of the pack – and starting to blow away any of the less interesting pop folkies who'd been crowding into the Greenwich Village scene of the early 60s! There's a difference here right from the start – not just some of his own material, but the way that Dylan transforms older tunes too – not with this crew-cutted, clean-voiced style – but bringing in elements of blues, and using these very personal guitar inflections and harmonica lines to really make the music his own. Titles include "Highway 51", "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean", "Song To Woody", "Man Of Constant Sorrow", "Fixin To Die", "Baby, Let Me Follow You Down", and "Talkin New York". Bob DylanJohn Wesley Harding (180 gram mono pressing) ... LP
Columbia/Sundazed, 1968. New Copy ... $26.99 28.98
A pivotal album for Bob Dylan – a record that continues the Nashville experiment of Blonde On Blonde, but which compresses it a bit more – almost like he's re-folding the electric energy back into the darkness of the spare sound of Times They Are A-Changin! Bob plays guitar, harmonica, and piano – in a core trio that just features Charlie McCoy on bass and Kenny Buttrey on drums – plus a bit of added steel guitar from Pete Drake. The album's filled with complicated dark little numbers like "All Along The Watchtower", "The Ballad Of Frankie Lee & Judas Priest", "I Am A Lonesome Hobo", "I Pity The Poor Immigrant", "The Wicked Messenger", "As I Went Out One Morning", and "Down Along The Cove". ✨✧ Bob DylanSpringtime In New York – The Bootleg Series Vol 16 – 1980 to 1985 ... LP
Sony/Legacy, Early 80s. New Copy 2LP ... Just Sold Out!
Rare work from a time in Bob Dylan's career when he was maybe giving us too few albums – which makes all the rare material here a great addition to his early 80s run of records on Shot Of Love, Infidels, and Empire Burlesque! The tracks here all come from sessions for those records – which were often stretched out a fair bit, and feature Dylan working through lots of new ideas as he puts the songs together – which you can really hear here on the unreleased material that's presented here for the first time ever! Titles include "Need A Woman (rehearsal)", "Fur Slippers (outtake)", "Jokerman (alt take)", "Don't Fall Apart On Me Tonight (alt take)", "Blind Willie McTell (outtake)", "New Danville Girl (outtake)", "Dark Eyes (alt take)", "Too Late (band version outtake)", "Sweetheart Like You (alt take)", "Seeing The Real You At Last (alt take)", and "Someone's Got Ahold Of My Heart (outtake)". 2LP set features 11 unreleased tracks!) Bob DylanTimes They Are A-Changin' ... LP
Columbia, 1964. Near Mint- ... $59.99
Some of the darkest acoustic work that Bob Dylan ever recorded – a record of spare, stark beauty that really has the young singer knocking it out of the park! There's a brilliance to this record that makes it one of our key go-to Bob Dylan records over the years – mostly just the man and his guitar, but spinning out stories and messages with this understated genius – really setting himself apart from some of the overdone, over-hyped energy of the other rising folk singers of the time – and with politics that are still completely resonant after all of these years. The album's filled with beautiful songs – like "With God On Our Side", "North Country Blues", "Only A Pawn In Their Game", "The Lonesome Death Of Hattie Carroll", "Boots Of Spanish Leather", and "The Times They Are A-Changin". LP, Vinyl record album
(360 Sound stereo pressing with white text and 1AC matrix. Cover has some ring and edge wear, a name in marker on front, and a small index label at the bottom right corner.)

Bob DylanTravelin Thru – Featuring Johnny Cash – Bootleg Series Vol 15 (3LPs) ... LP
Columbia/Legacy, Late 60s. New Copy 3LP ... $51.99
Rare and unheard material from Dylan's career redefining Nashville era – his post Blonde On Blonde Nashville era to be more specific – when he recorded the poetic story song masterpiece John Wesley Harding, the charming country folk classic Nashville Skyline, sessions that would end up on Self Portrait, and lots more with Johnny Cash than we'd ever thought would see light of day! Travelin' Thru has more interesting alternate versions and outtakes from John Wesley Harding and Nashville Skyline than we'd expect given how focused the former and how easygoing the latter are, but what's most revelatory here are the many recordings of Dylan and Cash together – from the Nashville Skyline sessions and for Johnny's Nashville-based television show at the time. Includes tracks with Carl Perkins on guitar and the great Earl Scruggs on banjo, too – with alternate versions John Wesley Harding material including "I Pity The Poor Immigrant", "All Along The Watchtower" and "I Am A Lonesome Hobo" and more, alternate Nashville Skyline takes such as "Country Pie", "Lay Lady Lay", "To Be Alone With You" and more, "I Still Miss Someone", "Ring Of Fire", "Girl From North Country", "Wanted Man" and lots more with Cash, surprisingly great folk & roots focused Self Portrait sessions including "East Virginia Blues" with Scruggs, and tons more. 50 tracks on 3LPs – most previously unreleased! Bob DylanTrouble No More – Bootleg Series Vol 13, 1979-1981 (4LP set) ... LP
Columbia, Late 70s/Early 80s. Near Mint- 4LP Box Set ... Just Sold Out!
Dylan on the road from the late 70s to early 80s – bringing words and wisdom that are more spiritually inspired than anything he'd put out before – backed by some of the most soulful arrangements and players he's ever had behind him! Trouble No More is all unreleased material and focuses on the live shows in support of what's since been dubbed Dylan's "Christian Period" – which is essentially true – and has long been ripe for a reassessment. The gravelly nature of his voice in the later years, which kind of begin here, gives it a really passionate vibe, while the bluesy soul arrangements and gospel style backing singers provide such a lovely backdrop. All tracks are previously unreleased, and captured live from throughout the 1979-1981 tours – with a few that were never on any Dylan studio albums at all, making the live recordings all the more vital! 4LP set (which comes with the full set on 2CDs, too) includes versions of "Slow Train Coming", "Gotta Serve Somebody","I Believe In You", "When You Gonna Wake Up?", "Gonna Change My Way Of Feeling", "In The Garden", "Every Grain Of Sand", "Previous Angel", "Gonna Change My Way Of Thinking", "Saving Grace", the unheard and unreleased "Ain't Gonna Go To Hell For Anybody", "Ain't No Man Righteous" and "Blessed Is The Name". Continuing the excellent Bootleg Series tradition, it's got an excellent set of notes & photos, too. LP, Vinyl record album

Third Man, 1983. New Copy (pic cover)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Two rare takes on this classic Bob Dylan tune from Infidels – both nicely different! Take 1 features Dylan on voclas, piano, and harmonica – with Mick Taylor on guitar over the very cool rhythm section of Alan Clark on keyboards, Robbie Shakespeare on bass, and Sly Dunbar on drums – and Take 5 changes it up nicely, with the replacement guitar of Mark Knopfler, who gives the tune a nicely different sound. Both tracks recorded April 11, 1983 at Power Station in NYC. 7-inch, Vinyl record

One of the most incredible rock albums of all time – Dylan's sprawling, shambling, poetic genius at it's most revolutionary if you ask us – the landmark Blonde On Blonde! It's got that surrealistic, 4AM and still bursting with creativity kind of feeling that he'd never even try to find again and it's filled with tracks that he comes back to live late in life perhaps more than any other single album. As great as rock music would ever get, this record. Includes "Rainy Day Women # 12 & 35", "Visions Of Johanna", "Pledging My Time", "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again", "Leopard-Skin Pill Box Hat", "Just Like A Woman" and more. Blonde On BlondeContrasts ... LP
Pye/Long Hair (France), 1969. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... Just Sold Out!
A wonderful little set from Blonde On Blonde – a group who may have taken their name from a tune by Bob Dylan, but who have a sound that's completely different than that reference might make you expect! There's a quality here that place the group at so many junctures of UK music at the end of the 60s – a bit of late psych, early hard rock and prog, and still traces of a tunefulness that would have come out differently a few years before! The guitar work is fantastic, and the record balances some full-on moments with some other interesting twists and turns – one of which is this really cool take on "Eleanor Rigby", handled with flute and horns and modes that make their take so different than any other version we've heard! But the best work is the original material, and the album's full of that – titles that include "Mother Earth", "Regency", "Island On An Island", "Don't Be Too Long", "Jeanette Isabella", and "Conversationally Making The Grade". ✨✧ Tim RoseTim Rose ... LP
Columbia, Late 60s. Very Good+ ... $16.99
A fantastic solo debut from Tim Rose – issued by Columbia Records at a time when the label was taking a strong stand with singer/songwriting giants like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen! Rose might not be totally in the territory of those legends, but steps out from previous folk work (including a group with Mama Cass and Jake Holmes!), into a mode that's trying to carve out a more thoughtful space for a male singer in the late 60s. Rose has a full voice that's clearly influenced by soul, yet has this raspy, almost boozy charm around the edges – almost crackling at times, which only adds to the spirit of the songs – which get great small group accompaniment from a studio combo that features Bernard Purdie on drums and Artie Butler on piano. Titles include "Where Was I", "You're Slipping Away From Me", "Got A Loneliness", "I'm Gonna Be Strong", "I Gotta Do Things My Way", and a version of "Hey Joe". LP, Vinyl record album

Janus, 1976. Very Good+ Gatefold ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The biggest record that Al Stewart ever cut – as you no doubt know from the oft-played title track – but a set that also stands as a great testament to all the many years he'd been crafting fine music before fully getting the recognition he deserved! Stewart's got a way with words that's like few of his contemporaries – maybe a bit like Donovan, with whom he shares a similar vocal approach – and also a clear early love of Bob Dylan, yet an immediate evolution past that influence – so that the whole thing is very much in a world of Al's own, with some slight 70s mainstream production, but not enough to soften the music into more mainstream AOR – despite the fame of the hit. Titles include, of course, "Year Of The Cat", plus "One Stage Before", "Flying Sorcery", "Broadway Hotel", "Lord Grenville", "If It Doesn't Come Naturally Leave It", and "Midas Shadow".
