Ruts —
Crack ... LP Virgin (UK), 1979. Very Good ...
Out Of Stock
A seminal set from this crucial group from the UK scene at the end of the 70s – the legendary Ruts, a group who could equally balance punk and reggae influences in the same style as The Clash – but who often worked with a much more biting sound overall! This album's their lasting masterpiece – and has an especially quick-riffing sound to the guitar and basslines that almost tie a direct link between the UK and the LA hardcore scene – with all the fast frenzy that might imply! And unlike the later, straighter reggae of The Clash, these guys always keep their Jamaican influence buried more in a punk aesthetic – maybe a bit like the BadBrains at the start. Titles include "Babylon's Burning", "Dope For Guns", "Something That I Said", "It Was Cold", "Savage Circle", "Back Biter", "Human Punk", and "Criminal Mind". LP, Vinyl record album
