That's Betico Salas on the cover – a hell of a trumpet player, and one who really sets the tone for this rare album from the Peruvian scene! The record's very much in the best small combo mode of the New York scene of the time, but also has some unique South American touches too – some of which come from the vocal phrasing of singer Benny Del Solar, others from the always-cool piano work of AlfredoLinares – an artist we love on his own records, and who really adds plenty here too. The production is nice and raw, and titles include "Mambo Jazz", "Ritmo De Amor", "El Arbol", "La Renga", "Que Le Digo A Mi Mujer", "Asi Nama", and "La Chola". LP, Vinyl record album
