Modern Harmonic, Late 60s/Early 70s. New Copy 2LP Gatefold ... $32.99 34.99
Something weird, and something very cool too – a set that brings together a whole host of strange and unusual tunes from the glory days of exploitation cinema! These cuts are all from a time when the b-movie underground was playing it fast and loose – trying to get more folks into the theaters with some ultra-sleazy themes – which resulted in wilder music than you might have heard in movies just a few short years before! The package is presented by Something Weird – the video company who've reissued lots of these exploitation films over the years – and the package is kind of a "best of" their on-screen efforts – as it also includes some spoken passages from films, which further make the tunes sound great. The package is divided up into themes – Psychedelic Hippie Freak Out, Rock O Rama Go Go, Deliriously Demented Ditties, and Sleazy Swinging Sounds – with work by Johnny Hawksworth, John Barry, The Group, The Love Generation, Joe Bisko, Alan Hawkshaw, Lee Dowell, The Penny Arcade, Billy Lee Riley, Betty Dickson, John Gabriel, Neil Patrick, Meg Myles, and The Huntington Astronauts. ✨✧ David Friedman/William Allen CastlemanSpace Thing (silver vinyl pressing – with DVD) ... LP
Modern Harmonic/Something Weird, 1986. New Copy (reissue)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A really strange little sci-fi soundtrack – penned for a film that was billed as one of the first "adult" science fiction movies – even though it was relatively tame compared with bigger budget porn to come! The low-fi masterpiece was directed by David F Friedman – not to be confused with the jazz musician of a similar name – and the songs here are credited to William Allen Castleman, although the notes don't really feature any other credits at all! Some of the sounds are what you'd expect from both genres of the time – combined – the jazzy romping of sexploitation film, mixed with electronic elements all around the edges that situate things in space – although maybe in modes that aren't as perfectly conceived as Italian scores of the period. Still, the whole thing's pretty darn great – and titles include "Hammond Orgasm", "Had It Comin", "Staccato Swagger", "Back To Bass", and "Infinite Worlds". LP, Vinyl record album
(On silver vinyl – plus DVD of the feature film!)

Psychedelic Sex KicksPsychedelic Sex Kicks – Original Soundtrack (CD & DVD set) ... CD
Something Weird/Modern Harmonic, 1967. New Copy CD & DVD ... $15.99 18.99
Groovy sounds for a somewhat creepy film – an obscure 1967 exploitation documentary about the underground hippie sex scene in San Francisco! The record is almost like a mini-movie in sound – in that it features a narrator describing various scenes in the city's underground, while backed by music that features tabla and sitar, all setting a very psychedelic backdrop! The narration is often upfront and no-nonsense – definitely designed to shock, but also not judging the scene at all – and there's some occasional sound effects, and grunts and groans from the folks onscreen. And if that's not enough, the package also comes with a DVD of the entire film – a very rare b-movie relic that was thought to be lost forever! Titles include "Lysergic Sitar Delusions", "Sitar Sit Ra", "Uptight & Hungup", "LSD The Last Plateau", "A Thin Pad", and "Universe Me Now". CD
(Includes the DVD of the entire film!)

VariousBest Of Doris Wishman (with bonus DVD) ... CD
Something Weird/Modern Harmonic, 1960s. New Copy CD & DVD ... $15.99 18.99
A weird and wild collection of work that once graced the films of Doris Wishman – dubbed in the notes as the "pint-sized sleaze queen" of 60s nudist films – with an underground legacy that finally gets its due in this very cool package! The audio component is a mix of film trailers, soundtrack material, and groovy tunes from Fishman's increasingly sexy movies – vocal numbers that often have a fair bit of wit in the lyrics along with the sleaze! There's also some snippets from the films too – and the mix of music and spoken bits is great – served up with tunes that include "Sun Lovers Waltz", "Going Back To Nature", "Moon Doll", "Hideout Theme", "Hard Selling Woman", "Sun Lovers Blues", and "The Moon Is The Lamp Of Love" – and trailers from films that include "My Brother's Wife", "Another Day Another Man", "Double Agent 73", "Keyholes Are For Peeping", "Blaze Starr Goes Nudist", and "Nude On The Moon". DVD features lots of snippets of the same – a lurid array of the weird and wonderful sexploitation work of the 60s and 70s underground! CD
