Henry ManciniMore Music From Peter Gunn ... LP
RCA, 1962. Near Mint- ... $14.99
Henry Mancini's second album of stuff for the Peter Gunn TV show, and arguably better than the first one! The album's straight-ahead crime jazz – performed by a great set of players that includes Plas Johnson, Shelly Manne, Ted Nash, Paul Horn, and other west coasters. Tracks include "My Manne Shelly", "Timothy", "Goofin At The Coffee House", "Odd Ball", "Walkin' Bass", and "Spook!". LP, Vinyl record album
(German Living Stereo pressing in a flimsy cover, with ring impressions, bent corners, and purchase date written in pen in back.)

✨✧ Armando TrovajoliRapporto Fuller Base Stoccolma ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1968. New Copy ... $12.99 18.99
A very cool late 60s spy soundtrack from Italian maestro Armando Trovajoli – possibly one of his most dynamic scores of the time, filled with a range of modes – from jazzy, to moody, to mellow! The main theme of the film has a leaping, soaring piano/horn line that's totally great – quite driving and catchy, with enough of a groove to make it alone worth seeking out – but other tracks are plenty wonderful too, and feature a nice array of jazzy passages mixed with sweeter strings, plus a few sparer, more contemplative moments that echo the theme in very subtle ways. The lovely Lara Saint Paul sings the theme song "The Touch Of A Kiss" – and other titles include "The Report Is Completed", "Just Pull The Trigger", "The Last Gift", "A Bank In Zurich", "The Cottage Over The River", "Unexpected Note", "A Forced Meeting", "Suddenly An Old Friend", "Tears & Spies", and "She Dangerous Stuff". ✨✧ Ennio MorriconePeur Sur La Ville (2LP pressing – with bonus tracks) ... LP
Warner/We Want Sounds (France), 1975. New Copy 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
A great Morricone soundtrack for a Jean-Paul Belmondo thriller – a score that starts out spare and brooding, then builds nicely as things move on – with lots of cool bottom-end sounds that make the whole thing really move up from the depths! Some tunes echo the sweeter side of Morricone, while others are a bit more brooding – and instrumentation includes some of the same offbeat piano you'd hear in The Burglars, plus light guitar, weird-tuned horns, and other nice bits that are sometimes abstracted beyond recognition! Titles include "Consideration Sur Un Homicide", "Paris Secret", "Defense De Stationner" and "Mannequins". 2LP set features a number of tracks that appear here on vinyl for the first time – and one previously-unissued track – a total of 30 titles in all! LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Mad Doctors/Sloopys/Terry Stafford/OthersDr Goldfoot & The Girl Bombs ... LP
Tower, Late 60s. Sealed ... Out Of Stock
A pretty nice batch of tunes designed to accompany this schlocky spy spoof film that starred Fabian and Vincent Price! The soundtrack's kind of in a Tower Records biker mode – with a lot of different studio groups doing the work – the best of which is the Mad Doctors, who are an instrumental combo who do about half the work on the album. They've got a great style that's really mod and go-go – mixing together fast rhythms, electric bass, and nice touches on guitar, horns, or organ. The Mad Doctors do "Dr Goldfoot's Igloo", "The Mad Mad Doctor", "The Golden Bomb", "The Golden Price", and "Dr Goldfoot & The Girl Bombs". Other tunes include "Dr Goldfoot & The Girl Bombs" by The Sloopys, "Try My World Little Girl" by Terry Stafford, and "Hidin From Myself" by Paul & The Pack. LP, Vinyl record album
