✨✧ Ken Thorne/Wynder K FrogTouchables ... LP
20th Century, 1968. Sealed ... Out Of Stock
A pretty darn psych/groovy soundtrack – to what looks like a very strange film! The music is by Ken Thorne – and the tracks are a mix of mod rhythms, instrumental groovers, and some very trippy numbers that use echoey percussion and some electrified instrumentation. A few cuts have vocals – such as "Respect" by The Ferris Wheel and "Touchables Theme", sung by Nirvana, in a style that's almost in the Bob Crewe mode – but the best cuts are the instrumentals, which are really really fantastic. A few cuts have organ by Wynder K Frog – and titles include "Samson's Theme", "The Dome", "Sadie's Theme", "Christian & Melanie", "Blues For A Frog", and "The Chase". LP, Vinyl record album
(Sealed original pressing! Shrink is slightly open, but this copy is great overall.)

✨✧ Enrico Pieranunzi/Marc Johnson/Joey BaronPlay Morricone ... CD
CAM (Italy), 2001. Used ... Just Sold Out!
A great idea – jazz piano trio versions of Morricone soundtrack tunes, played here by Italian pianist Enrico Pieranunzi, with backing by Marc Johnson on bass and Joey Baron on drums. The team of Johnson and Baron have a perfect touch of lyricality to open these tunes up – taking lesser-known Morricone themes, and working them like jazz standards to show the depth of composition and possibilities available to the tunes. One of the great shames of Morricone's career is that he wrote so many darn great soundtracks that most of his tunes never got as much variation and acclaim as the work of other 60s soundtrack composers – and hopefully a set like this will begin to correct that! Titles include "Addio Fratello Crudele", "I Malamondo", "La Domenica Specialmente", "Mio Caro Dottor Grasler", "Ninfa Plebea", "Jona Che Visse Nella Balena", "Le Mani Sporche", "Quando Le Donne Avevano La Coda", "Il Prato", and "Just Beyond The Horizon". ✨✧ Francesco De MasiSartana Non Perdona – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1968. Used ... Out Of Stock
A great late 60s western score from Italian composer Francesco De Masi – hitting on all of favored sounds to accompany the best Italian made westerns of the era – rustic solo guitar, string-tightened tension, both lonely and densely orchestrated horns, and swaggery mood to spare! Excellent work that hits all the right notes – and it's got a groovy vocal opener, to boot! This CD marks the first ever release of the complete score, mastered from the original mono tapes. "Maybe Somwhere, Maybe Someday", plus "Non Potro Domenticare", "Sogni Ed Ombre Nell'Incubo", "La Pista Nella Sabbia", "Ecce Homo", "Triste E Sospeso", "Un Giorno Ti Pentirai", "Passagio Ne Nistero" and many more. ✨✧ Ennio MorriconeEnnio Morricone Deluxe Edition ... CD
Cinevox (Italy), Late 60s/1970s. Used 2CD ... Out Of Stock
A beautiful package that brings together the best themes from Ennio Morricone's work for Cinevox records – presented here in a 2CD, 40 track collection that's overflowing with greatness! The focus here is often on the mellower, moodier, dreamier tunes from Morricone oeuvre – the kind of work that's best associated with the Mondo Morricone sets from years back, and which still represents our favorite side of his recordings. And while there's nothing here that hasn't been reissued before (save for a few tunes in "stereo premiere"), our hats are off to Cinevox for the track selection on this one! Includes work from the soundtracks to L'Assoluto Naturale, La Cosa Buffa, Anche Se Volessi Lavorare Che Faccio, Mussolini Ultimo Atto, Forza G, Metti Una Sera A Cena, Giu La Testa, Cosi Com Sei, Il Gatto, I Giocattolo, Occhio Alla Penna, Un Sacco Bello, Fatti Di Gente Per Bene, and La Donna Della Domenica.
