Neal HeftiHow To Murder Your Wife ... LP
United Artists, 1965. Near Mint- ... $4.99 6.99
A swinging sex comedy score from the legendary Neal Hefti – not as well-known as some of his big 60s hits, but a wonderfully groovy record throughout! The film itself is a pretty silly farce – and Hefti definitely matches that action in his music – by mixing up jazzy, upbeat numbers with some sweeter tunes that have that lush, laidback style we always love in his orchestrations! Things are never too heavy, and the whole thing's got a lightness that really stands out from other work of this nature by Hefti's contemporaries – especially on a few of the tracks that make some great use of groovy wordless vocals. Titles include "Prologue (Main Theme)", "Suspicion", "Virna", "Here's To My Lover", "Stag Party Blast", "Bash Brannigan", "How To Murder Your Wife", "Scene Of The Crime", "Cartoon Capers", and "Requiem For A Bachelor". LP, Vinyl record album
(Black label stereo pressing with deep groove. Cover has light ringwear, some edge wear, and bent corners.)

✨✧ Henry ManciniParty ... LP
RCA, 1968. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A great Mancini score for one of the goofiest films of the 60s! Peter Sellers stars as the sitar-playing Indian actor Hrundi Bakshi – next to the lovely Claudine Longet, who makes one of her few film appearances – and the whole thing's set to one of the greatest scores ever by Henry Mancini! The tunes are very groovy – with a few chorus vocal numbers, and some other wonderful tracks that mix together bits of sitar, guitar, and horn blasts – creating a very lively instrumental groove. Plus, the music is played by a tight group of LA jazzmen – with Plas Johnson on tenor, Jack Sheldon on trumpet, Jimmy Rowles on piano, and Shelly Manne on drums – all musicians who really make things cook! Titles include instrumental and chorus versions of "Nothing To Lose", plus "Chicken Little Was Right", "Birdie Num Num", "Party Poop", "Wiggy", and "Brunette In Yellow". Swingin! ✨✧ Sid RaminStiletto – Original Soundtrack ... CD
Columbia/Vocalion (UK), 1969. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Fantastic stuff – and one of the grooviest soundtracks you'll ever hope to own! Sid Ramin did a heck of a lot of work for TV soundtracks by the time this one came out – and he took all that experience, and came up with some fantastically swinging jazz tracks that have a sock-mod 60s groove! Hammond organ dances around the best numbers – blasting out with horns on variations of the very catchy "Stiletto" theme – and other great cuts mix flute, strings, and a bit of harpsichord or piano – creating that cool 60s easy sound that never gets old in our book! Titles include "Confrontation", "Goat Island", "Follow That Man", "Stiletto", "Tram", and the classic "Sugar In The Rain", a great light bossa number with some dreamy vocals from Sally Stevens! CD

✨✧ Robby PoitevinTecnica De Un Omicidio (180 gram pressing – with bonus tracks) ... LP
Digitmovies (Italy), 1966. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Rare work from composer Robby Poitevin – a great action score, put together with a heavy dose of jazz – great vibes, flute, and plenty of other horns – blasting out with a hip style over lots of tight percussion – almost in the manner of spy films from the time, but with a lot more complexity at points, almost the depths of a drama, without any of the sleepy moments – maybe at a level that rivals some of the best Lalo Schifrin work of the period! There's plenty of drama in the progression of tunes, but things are always pretty darn groovy – jazzy 60s action at its best – on titles that include "Alba A New York", "Central Station", "My Man", "L'Ultima Vittima", "Bassifondi", "Clint In Agguato", and "Tecnica Di Un Omicido". LP features 7 more bonus tracks – half of which are unreleased! LP, Vinyl record album
