✨✧ King CurtisBlow Man Blow – The Capitol Recordings (3CD box set) ... CD
Capitol/Bear Family (Germany), Early 60s. Used 3CDs ... Out Of Stock
A very cool package that contains all of the sides the tenor sax giant King Curtis recorded for Capitol Records! The package is wonderful – 3CDs, wrapped up in a nice big box, with a huge booklet that has notes on the work, great photos, and full details of the sessions. King's tenor was heard on countless soul and R&B records at the time – but these are the sides that really have him blowing strongly on his own – records cut after his initial singles for the Enjoy label, a host of different types of material, all given a deep soulful twist! Titles include "Good Times", "The Prance", "You Send Me", "Watermelon Man", "More Soul", "Soul Serenade", "Turn Em On", "Beach Party", "Tumbling Tumbleweeds", "Do The Monkey", "New Dance", "Summer Dream", "Raunchy", "Wagon Wheels", "Java", "Tanya", "Hung Over", "Girl From Ipanema", "Sister Sadie", and lots lots more! Plus, most of these titles have never been reissued before – and certainly not in a package this nice! CD
(Set is missing the outer box and booklet, 3 CDs packaged in individual jewel cases – priced accordigly.)

✨✧ VariousSweet Soul Music 1965 – 30 Scorching Classics ... CD
Bear Family (Germany), 1965. Used ... Out Of Stock
A massive batch of music – and almost as worth it for the overall package as it is for the great tunes inside! Like other volumes in this series, this set is beautifully put together – not only stuffed with an amazing array of classic soul from a key year in the 60s – but also done with a full color booklet that's over 60 pages long – filled with track-by-track notes on the tunes, and filled with great photos, images, and historical data! The whole thing's a perfect soul music time capsule – with the depth of production that we've always loved in Bear Family releases for other genres. Titles include "Voice Your Choice" by The Radiants, "The In Crowd" by Ramsey Lewis, "Oo Wee Baby I Love You" by Fred Hughes, "Boot Leg" by Booker T & The MGs, "Take Me In Your Arms" by Kim Weston, "Rescue Me" by Fontella Bass, "People Get Ready" by The Impressions, "Ride Your Pony" by Lee Dorsey, "Hold What You've Got" by Joe Tex, "Sitting In The Park" by Billy Stewart, and "See Saw" by Don Covay.
