Killer cuts from a label that really had its ear to the ground – the young Starday/Dixie label, run by the team of Pappy Daily and Don Pierce – both of whom were becoming a powerhouse force in country music, but could also pick some great rockabilly too! Although the imprint was based in Texas, it handled custom pressings for artists from all around the country – and this collection brings together some real gems that came to the label that way – tracks from the mid-Atlantic and different points in the south – all by young artists who were really on fire with boundless energy and new ideas!
