✨✧ LoveLove (180 gram pressing – mono) ... LP
Elektra/Rhino, 1966. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
Love's first album – a seminal bit of Sunset Strip rock, and every bit as powerful today as it was in the 60s! The style's a bit sharper-edged than the group's classic and more familiar Forever Changes set, but it's still pretty darn great – a completely fresh batch of guitar-heavy tunes that bristle with a sound that's a lot more sinister than some of the group's contemporaries. There's a few folksy or bluesy elements in the mix, but they're almost used in a way that parodies bigger acts of the time – turning the familiar into the freaky, all with a sense of power that's simply mindblowing. Titles include the group's excellent version of Burt Bacharach's "My Little Red Book", plus "Hey Joe", "Emotions", "A Message To Pretty", "Mushroom Clouds", "And More", and "Coloured Balls Falling". LP, Vinyl record album
(50th Anniversary pressing on 180 gram vinyl – mono, too!)

✨✧ CanTago Mago (orange vinyl pressing) ... LP
Spoon/Mute (UK), 1971. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
Moody genius from Can – and one of greatest albums of its time! Tons of spooky spare atmosphere, vocals that go from a lull to a cathartic echoey shriek, and that rollicking and propulsive backbeat that makes Can a band for the ages. Not just a landmark in what was to be dubbed Krautrock – truly an indispensable masterpiece regardless of genre, and a record so influential to so many movements in underground music that it is really impossible to imagine the world without it. Timeless! Tracks include "Paperchase", "Mushroom", "Oh Yeah", "Halleluwah", "Aumgn", "Peking O", and "Bring Me Coffee Or Tea". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ ChampignonsPremiere Capsule ... LP
Return To Analog (Canada), 1972. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Mighty funky mushrooms from the Canadian scene of the early 70s – a group who work with a jazzy sort of energy, but also know when to rock out as well – serving up this wonderful blend of saxes, organ, guitar, bass, and drums! The songs are mostly instrumental, and kind of poised between late beat group and early prog modes – usually with a great sort of groove going on at the bottom, almost soul jazz moving into fusion – and solos that get the job done, but all without ever getting too overindulgent! The group's a sextet, and are wonderfully sharp throughout – on titles that include "Folies Du Mercredi", "Pop Pino", "Le Ghetto Noir", "Dynamite", "Le Train", and "Le Chateau Hante". LP, Vinyl record album
(Black vinyl pressing.)
