Elvis CostelloThis Years Model ... LP
Columbia, 1978. Very Good+ ... $24.99
One of the most important early records by Elvis Costello – and maybe one of a small handful that we'd deem completely essential out of his massive catalog over the decades! Elvis and The Attractions are in perfect form here – coming across with all the biting energy of the punk generation, but not punk at all – and instead finding a way to open the door to a global audience, especially American, that some of his contemporaries weren't able to reach at the time – thanks to some incredible songs that even Elvis might not have thought would go on to become pop and rock standards over the years! Titles include "This Year's Girl", "Hand In Hand", "Chelsea", "Lip Service", "Little Triggers", "Pump It Up", "No Action", "Lipstick Vogue", and "Living In Paradise". US version also includes "Radio Radio" and "Big Tears". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original pressing. Includes the printed inner sleeve.)
Also available This Years Model (180 gram pressing – with bonus tracks) ... LP 23.99

Elvis CostelloTrust ... LP
Columbia, 1981. Near Mint- ... $14.99
Essential old school Elvis Costello from the peak years of the Attractions era! Trust is one of the earliest albums in which Costello started to shake the punkish roots off just a bit, adding a bit more of his sock soul influences into his patented power pop. Tracks include "Clubland", "Lover's Walk", "You'll Never Be A Man", "Pretty Words", "Watch Your Step", "New Lace Sleeve", and "From A Whisper To A Scream". LP, Vinyl record album
(US pressing, includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has ring and edge wear.)

✨✧ Jazz Passengers with Deborah Harry & Elvis CostelloIndividually Twisted (peach vinyl pressing) ... LP
32 Jazz/Modern Harmonic, 1996. New Copy (reissue)... $23.99 24.99
A surprising 90s set from The Jazz Passengers – the New York group who'd worked in many modes other than just the straight jazz you might guess from their name, but who here maybe take things back to basics, especially on some of the cuts that bring in vocals from famous guests who include Deborah Harry and Elvis Costello! In some ways, Harry is the core of the set – as she unlocks this great jazz-based side of her style, in a way that gives her voice a whole new level of expression – one that's surprisingly strong next to the instrumentation provided by Roy Nathanson, Curis Fowlkes, and the rest of the group. Elvis Costello sings moodily on the tune "Aubergine" – but most other vocal numbers feature Deborah Harry, and include "Pork Chop", "Lil Darlin", "Maybe I'm Lost", "Imitation Of A Kiss", "Ole", and "Angel Eyes". Harry and Costello duet on "Doncha Go Way Mad" – and the set also features a nice instrumental remake of the Nat Adderley tune "Jive Samba". (Jazz, Rock) LP, Vinyl record album
(First time on vinyl! Limited peach colored vinyl pressing.)

✨✧ Elvis Costello & OthersSpanish Model ... LP
Universal, 2021. New Copy Gatefold ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A new take on a classic set from Elvis Costello – a record that features all the tunes from the classic This Year's Model album, done anew, and with Spanish language vocals from a variety of global stars! The overall sound of the record is a bit more contemporary than the 70s release – with production by Sebastian Krys, directed by Costello – who conceived the project – and while we're not sure that the record is going to open up Elvis in a huge new market, the whole thing is both a fresh take on the classic, and a testament to its staying power over the years. Titles include "La Chica De Hoy" by Cami, "Mentira" by Pablo Lopez, "Chelsea" by Raquel Sofia Y Fuego, "Yo Te Vi" by Draco Rosa, "No Action" by Nina Diaz, "La Turba" by Jorge Drexler, "Lipstick Vogue" by Morat, "Crawling To The USA" by Gian Marco & Nicole Zignago, and "Radio Radio" by Fito Paez. LP, Vinyl record album
