Body 11Youth ... LP
Medical, Mid 80s. Near Mint- ... $11.99
A one-man German operation from the mid-80s – but one with a punchy approach that rivals some of the better electro pop from the Euro scene at the time! Body 11 only ever issued a 7" EP back in the day, plus a handful of cuts on cassette – but the sound here really recalls those great early 80s moments when older, colder groups like Cabaret Voltaire or Human League found a way to get more tuneful – yet still hold onto most of the edge that made them so great. Had Body 11 issued these cuts in early 80s Sheffield or Manchester, he might well have broken big – but it's also the mystery of these obscure tracks that keeps the record really interesting too. Instrumentation includes lots of Yamaha, Korg, and Roland electronics – and titles include "Wasteland 2", "Under My Command", "Just A Smile", "Marching", "Hearts", and "Fascination". LP, Vinyl record album
(Milky clear vinyl, including the insert.)

✨✧ NirvanaMTV Unplugged In New York (180 gram pressing – with bonus tracks) ... LP
Geffen, 1994. New Copy 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
Nirvana's classic session for MTV's Unplugged – slowing down the tempo and stripping away the feedback and squalling electric guitars of their early 90s classics – as well as showing Kurt Cobain's command of cover tunes! This is a set that blew expectations right out of the water. It shows the essence of the great Cobain songwriting, as well has his gift for interpreting others – drawing parallels from Bowie, The Meat Puppets to traditional folk and blues. Amazing! Includes "About A Girl", "The Man Who Sold The World", "Where Did You Sleep Last Night", "Lake Of Fire", "All Apologies", "Dumb", "Polly" and more. LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Jack WhiteBoarding House Reach ... LP
Third Man, 2018. Sealed ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Jack White following his farthest reaching eclectic tendencies wherever they'll lead him – as has been his modus operandi for years – but this time farther away from the raging, if still pretty idiosyncratic guitar rock of Lazzaretto and much of his past catalog to a more wildly diverse, intentionally all over the place sound! Starting with a rock & soul anthem complete with a gospel style chorus that leads to a leaner synth rock ballad, Boarding House Reach reaches from there to call-and-response funk rock, to folk soul hybrids, to straighter hard grooving rock and beyond. 13 tracks in all: "Connected By Love", "Why Walk A Dog?", "Corporation", "Abulia And Akrasia", "Hypermisophoniac", "Ice Station Zebra", "Over And Over And Over", "Respect Commando", "What's Done Is Done", "Humoresque" and more. ✨✧ VariousDoo Wop Nuggets Vol 3 – That's My Desire ... CD
Warner (Japan), Late 50s/Early 60s. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A really fantastic collection of unusual doo wop tunes – and one that really lives up to the "nuggets" in the title, given how obscure many of these tunes have remained over the years! The style is great – tunes that really showcase the vocal skills of these young groups – at a level that's completely amazing, both on the mellow cuts and the more upbeat numbers – all without any of the hoke or cliche that sometimes comes from the overplayed hits that can keep new listeners away from digging vintage doo wop at its best. In fact, it's probably more accurate to think of this material as group harmony soul overall – even with some of the more rock-oriented acts – as there's an approach here that undeniably helped shape the sound of soul music in years to come. Titles on this third volume include some numbers that are maybe a bit more familiar, but still pretty darn great, mixed along with a few early Atlantic soul cuts too. Titles include "Remember My Baby" by The Earls, "That's My Desire" by The Belmonts, "Love You So" by Ron Holden, "Chapel Of Dreams" by The Dubs, "Blue Velvet" by The Clovers, "That's My Desire" by The Channels, "Dedicated To The One I Love" by The 5 Royales, "Dream Girl" by Normal Fox & The Rob Roys, "Ten Commandments Of Love" by Harvey & The Moonglows, "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles, "Alone" by The Four Seasons, "Make It Easy On Yourself" by Little Anthony & The Imperials, and "Drip Drop" by Dion Di Muci. ✨✧ VariousRecords Toreism – Limited Edition Record Store Day 2009 Sampler ... LP
Thrill Jockey, 2009. Near Mint- ... $9.99
A very cool tribute to the greatness of the Record Store – a limited edition record release, and one that comes with a special zine too! The zine features memories of record stores past and present – written by Mike Watt, Julie Cafritz, Nathan Means, aNDEE, Peter Margasak, and others – and also comes with a special Recordstoreism manifesto – kind of an 11 Commandments of Record Shopping! The album features 5 hard to find tracks – "High Class Slim Came Floatin In" by Tortoise, "Window" by Mountains, "Stagger Lee" by Double Dagger, "Eye To Eye" by White Hills, and "Wounded Monkey" by Trans Am. Great cover, too! LP, Vinyl record album
