Nick JamesonAlready Free (Japanese paper sleeve edition) ... CD
Bearsville/Big Pink (South Korea), 1977. New Copy ... Just Sold Out!
Solo work from Nick Jameson of Foghat – a set that has Nick standing out with some really surprising strengths of his own – not just vocals and songwriting, but also an ability to handle a good many of the instruments and production as well! There's a mix of rootsy elements and tighter production that have all the hallmarks of what you'd expect on a Bearsville Records release from the late 70s – and Paul Butterfield plays harmonica on the set too. Titles include "Sweet Heat", "Already Free", "I Ain't Searching", "Long Way Round", "When The Blues Come Calling", and "I Know What It Is". CD

✨✧ Todd RundgrenSomething/Anything? ... LP
Bearsville, 1972. Very Good+ 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
Arguably one of the greatest pop albums of all time – a pure act of genius from Todd Rundgren, and one of the few cases in rock music where two records are actually better than one! The double-length set was Rundgren's third solo effort after the breakup of Nazz – but it's a broad step ahead from the first two, and a strong move into the kind of near-perfect, yet always-human pop that made Rundgren so great in the 70s. Sides one through three of the album were completely done by Todd himself – all instruments, voices, and production handled through the then-new magic of the 16 track studio – and Rundgren's really at his best here, working in the kind of personal modes that make his tunes so great, some of the best of the mainstream singer/songwriter generation. Side four has fuller arrangements and other players coming into the mix, but the core feel of the rest of the record is very nicely preserved – apart from a few tunes that perhaps get a bit too goofy. It's hard to imagine more great pop songs in one album – and the set's overflowing with genius moments that include "Marlene", "I Saw The Light", "I Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference", "It Takes Two To Tango", "Sweeter Memories", "I Went To The Mirror", "One More Day", "Song Of The Viking", and "Hello It's Me". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has some ringwear, edge wear, and small initials in marker in back.)

✨✧ Karen DaltonIn My Own Time (50th Anniversary 2LP 180 gram deluxe edition – with bonus 7" singles) ... LP
Light In The Attic, 1971. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
An underground classic from Karen Dalton – a record that's almost out of time, given its early 70s release – as Karen sings with spare backings that are almost in a Folkway Records mode at points, but with all these headier currents that are also indicative of the Bay Area generation too! Dalton's voice is completely unique too – unlike anything you'll ever hear – phrasing that almost hearkens back both to vintage jazz and Appalachian folk, but a style that's more long hair – as are some of the backings too. The set was recorded upstate in Bearsville – and really has all the hallmarks of the freedoms of that scene at the time – summed up beautifully on material that includes "Something On Your Mind", "In A Station", "Take Me", "Same Old Man", Are You Leaving For The Country", "Katie Cruel", and "How Sweet It Is". 2LP version features bonus tracks from the original sessions on side 4! LP, Vinyl record album
(2 X 180 gram vinyl – 45 RPM! A beautiful package – with 2 bonus 7" singles, a 20 page book, and fantastic quality overall!)
