✨✧ Jackie & RoyGrass ... LP
Capitol, 1968. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Don't miss this one! For years, we passed this one by, thinking it an impure version of the great jazz duo Jackie & Roy. Now, though, we realize that it's one of their masterpieces, and takes their hip vocal sound into a new dimension, with cool L.A. production from the late 60's, and some great material that pushes them to the next level – like Marcos Valle's "Deus Brasilero" and the Bee Gee's "Holiday", or the songs "Open", "Without Rhyme Or Reason", and "Winds Of Heaven, all written by the great Fran Landesman. Massive grooviness, perhaps inspired by the vegetation in the title of the LP! (Vocalists, Now Sound) LP, Vinyl record album
(Rainbow label stereo pressing. Cover has light wear and aging.)

✨✧ Jackie & RoyLovesick ... LP
Verve, Mid 60s. Near Mint- Gatefold ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Wonderfully groovy work from the team of Jackie Cain & Roy Kral – a set that has the pair moving into much hipper modes for the 60s, and really taking off from the greatness of earlier records! Backing is still by Roy's core trio, with acoustic piano at the lead – but the addition of electric bass to the lineup really helps the tunes step along nicely – hitting a groove not heard before from Jackie & Roy, with results that are completely sublime! There's a definite bossa influence that comes into some of the best tracks – a skipping, lilting approach to rhythm that's made even better by the unique dual vocals of the team, especially when they're singing wordlessly. But even when lyrical vocals are part of the mix, the sound is still great too – and Jackie & Roy have a way of bringing charm to a tune that few other singers can touch! Titles include "Lovesick", "A Big Beautiful Ball", "You Really Started Something", "Let's Begin", "Mimosa & Me", "Corcovado", "Samba Triste", and "The World Is Your Balloon". (Vocalists, Now Sound) LP, Vinyl record album
(MGM stereo pressing with deep groove. Cover has minimal wear and a lightly bumped corner.)

✨✧ Roy BuddGreat Songs & Themes ... CD
Cinephile/Castle (UK), Early 70s. Used ... Out Of Stock
A collection of some of the famous film themes recorded by Roy Budd during the early 70s – featuring a mix of breezy jazzy numbers, plus others that are in more of a straight soundtrack orchestral mode. Roy's piano is tippling nicely through most cuts, though – and the set list includes 12 tracks in all, with the titles "Get Carter", "Getting Nowhere In A Hurry", "Love Is A Four Letter Word", "Fields Of Green & Skies Of Blue", "All You Want To Be Be", "Little Boy, Little Girl", "Lust", "Envy Greed & Gluttony", and "Walkin Down O'Connell Street". ✨✧ Harry Roche ConstellationSpiral (180 gram white vinyl pressing) ... LP
Music On Vinyl (Netherlands), 1973. New Copy (reissue)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
One of the grooviest records ever cut by Brit easy maestro Harry Roche – and a set that's got plenty of sweet 70s touches in the mix, at a level that really opens things up in a great way! The set's got some key Fender Rhodes from Alaln Branscombe, who has a very unique touch on the instrument – and in addition to Harry's own work on valve trombone, the record also features Ray Swinfield on flute, Chris Pyne on trombone, and Roy Wilcox on soprano and alto sax. There's plenty of other jazz players in the mix too, grooving to sweet arrangements from David Lindup, Derek Cox, Pete Moore, and others – on titles that include "Superwoman", "Pinball Wizard", "Good Morning Heartache", "Lay Lady Lay", "Ludmilla's Theme", "That's Living", and the 10 minute title track, "Spiral" – a mighty nice number! (Sound Library, Now Sound) LP, Vinyl record album
