Kirk Degiorgio Presents As One21st Century Soul ... LP
Ubiquity, 2001. Sealed 2LP ... $9.99
Spacey beats, funky keyboards, and a clear vision for the future – all coming from the hands of Kirk DeGiorgio, one of the most important producer/musicians to come out of the London scene of the past decade! This Ubiquity full length goes way past most of Kirk's recent singles and remix efforts – to a level of expression that few groups can match, save perhaps 4Hero – blending a rich tradition of space jazz funk, with broken beats and the occasional soulful vocal, into a seamless wall of sound that shifts, shimmers, and delights throughout! Titles include "Like No Other", "Another Revolution", "Problems", "Music Is An Open Sky", "Amalia", "In The Arms Of You", "Undefeated" and "Contours". LP, Vinyl record album

Deborah JordanSee In The Dark ... LP
Futuristica (UK), 2020. New Copy ... About July 1, 2020 (delayed)
It's been quite some time since we last heard from Deborah Jordan – and the singer has come a long way since her days in Silhouette Brown – really maturing a lot as a songwriter, and finding this way to really move forward in her music, while still hanging onto some of the future soul modes that made her such an important force on the London scene many years back! The album's a rock-solid album of cosmic soul – not just in Deborah's spacey presentation of her own lyrics, but also in the excellent keyboard work –e specially the Fender Rhodes that seems to grace most of the album – warming things up between the vocals and the crispy crackling rhythms – which themselves are mostly in a more mellow and midtempo mode. Titles include "Spirit Of The Earth", "Live In Love", "Horizon", "Machine", "See In The Dark", "Stay With You", "Fooling Yourself", "Be There", and "You Should Know". Also available See In The Dark ... CD 12.99

✨✧ Marc MacInvisible Soldiers ... LP
Omniverse (UK), 2020. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
One of those great little mixtape projects from the mighty Marc Mac – a set that mixes together his own beats and keyboards with a range of spoken passages taken from a history of Civil Rights and political activism! The set's not the first time that Marc's done this sort of thing, but we're still amazed at the way he manages to bring together snippets of the past and give them new relevance with his own music – maybe in part because some of these issues are maybe more important today than ever! Titles include "Dying For The Cause", "Black Buffalo", "Justifiable Reasons", "This New World", "Tuskegee Symphony", "Shells Like Rain", and "A Grateful Nation". LP, Vinyl record album

VariousSweet House Chicago – A Mickey Oliver Production ... LP
M Records/Still Music, 1986. New Copy 2LP ... $22.99
A classic compilation from the Chicago scene – one that stood as one of the key full-length releases of house music that was bubbling under in the Windy City – important at the time, as most other albums of house music were from overseas labels issuing Chicago recordings! As you'd guess from the title, Mickey Oliver's at the helm throughout – producing the work with a nicely soulful quality – one that takes things a bit past some of the starker, colder modes that sometimes showed up on Trax Records – and which really illustrates that great second chapter as Chicago house was maturing a bit. The beats are nice and crispy throughout, the keyboards get cool and moody – and titles include "I Can't Stop For You" by Pierre's Fantasy Club, "Take It To The Top" by Joe Magic, "House Rights" by Phortune, "Suavesito" by Ralphi Rosario, "I Want Your Love" by Jamie, "Lost Me Boy" by Mickey Oliver with Dari Mor, and "Anticipate" and "I Need A Beat" by Mickey Oliver. (Soul, New Grooves) LP, Vinyl record album
(Pressed up as a 2LP set – better than the original!)
Also available Sweet House Chicago – A Mickey Oliver Production ... CD 12.99
