Great early work from Joe Cuba! Sure, the tracks were recorded before Joe's legendary Latin Soul years – but the vibe is nice and fresh, and the tight stripped-down approach shows how much Joe was ready to revitalize Latin music in the 60s. The percussion's nice and strong, and many cuts have a very cool Latin vibes sound! Titles include "Joe Cuba's Mambo", "Con Ni Mambo", "Alegre Mambo", and "Carita Sucia". Very tasty! LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has light wear, tape on the spine, and a few names across the top.)

Charlie Palmieri/Emilio Reyes/La Playa Sextet —
Lo Ultimo ... LP Embajador, Early 60s. Near Mint- ...
Nice album of classic Latin tracks, and one that offers a mix of material from Charlie Palmieri, Emilio Reyes, and La Playa Sextet. Despite the obvious thrown together nature of the release, the material's all quite strong, and lots of hit has a very hard, very percussive sound. Charlie and his Duboney group contribute "Hermanos En Mambo" and "Charlie's Cha Cha"; Emilio Reyes performs "Alegra Cha Cha" and "Cafe Mambo"; and La Play Sextet play "San Luisera" and "Guaguanco En Tropicana". LP, Vinyl record album
