✨✧ Paquito D'Rivera with Arturo SandovalReunion (2022 Black Friday Release) ... LP
Messidor (Germany), 1990. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A great set of Latin-tinged jazz – and the first recording that Paquito D'Rivera and Arturo Sandoval had made together in many years! The set's got the angular groove of Paquito's best work of the early 80s – tight Latin jazz, with plenty of percussion at the bottom – played out over longer tracks that allow plenty of space for him and Sandoval to solo, and which also feature piano by Danilo Perez and guitar by Fareed Haque. Titles include "Tanga", "Latin American Suite", "Claudia", "Body & Soul", "Reunion", and "Friday Morning". (Jazz, Latin) LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ SarachoEn Medio (180 gram pressing) (2022 Black Friday Release) ... LP
Impulse, 1973. New Copy Gatefold (reissue)... Temporarily Out Of Stock
One of the most unusual albums issued by Impulse Records in the early 70s – one that's partly funky jazz, partly Chicano soul – and very much in that nice mixing of modes that the label was cooking up in the years after John Coltrane's passing! Gary Saracho leads the group on acoustic and electric piano – and the rest of the ensemble includes soprano sax, electric guitar, timbales, bass, and an assortment of other odd instrumentation, including some woodwinds – all served up in a style that's very hard to label easily – one of the reasons why the record was a bit ignored in the 70s, and is now seen as one that was years ahead of its time! Titles include "Happy, Sad", "Sunday's Church", "Senor Baker", and "Conquest De Mejico". LP, Vinyl record album
