✨✧ Bobby Previte/Jamie Saft/Nels ClineMusic From The Early 21st Century ... LP
Rare Noise (UK), 2020. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold ... Out Of Stock
A pretty heady little set, from a pretty heady trio of talents – drummer Bobby Previte, guitarist Nels Cline, and keyboardist Jamie Saft – who works here on Hammond, Fender Rhodes, and mini-moog! The music is very dark and often distorted – as if the other two musicians have borrowed some of Cline's love of effects, which are often used to deepen and abstract his sound – which is definitely the case here, as the music builds in waves of fuzz that bring a very progressive feel to the record – a bit like some of those great early 70s experimental sets that were equal parts jazz and psych. Titles include "Parkour", "Paywall", "Totes", "Occession", "The New Weird", "Machine Learning", "Woke", and "Flash Mob". LP also features the bonus track "Post Human". LP, Vinyl record album

Love Cry Want (Larry Young/Joe Gallivan/Stephen Nicholas)Love Cry Want ... LP
Lion/Return To Analog, 1972. New Copy (reissue)... $22.99
Rare material that was originally recorded in 1972 by organist Larry Young – some of his most outside material ever, and done with a bunch of young musicians who wail on all of these weird electronic instruments! The set's way wilder even than any of Young's albums that were issued at the time – including the classics with his group Fuel, or even his Lawrence of Newark album – and the album's got loads of wild, very noisy synth sounds and crazy percussion! The tunes come across as sheets and sheets of white noise – with Larry's organ going all over the place in freewheeling solos and groovy rhythm lines. Young plays Hammond, and other instrumentation includes Joe Gallivan on synth, percussion, drums, and steel guitar; Nicholas on guitar synth, ring modulator, hi-tension wires, wind, rain, and thunder (!); and Jimmy Molneiri on drums and percussion. Titles include "Love Cry", "Ancient Place"," Angels Wing", "Peace", and "Great Medicine Dance". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Charles EarlandCharles Earland ... LP
Trip, Late 60s. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A rare live set from Charles Earland – recorded pre-Prestige, and probably illegally, by Paul Winley. The sound of the set has plenty of crowd noise up front – not necessarily from bad recording, but from an approach that seems to create this "live lounge" kind of feel, one that lets you hear folks talking, clapping, and having a good night out, just as you'd hear if you were sitting in front of the bandstand with Charlie and combo! Tracks are short and groovy, with a number of good originals like "Freakin' Off" (parts 1 & 2), "Yeah Sir", and "One For Lee". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Dizzy GillespieDizzy Gillespie & His Orchestra Vol 1 (10 inch LP) ... LP
Atlantic, Early 50s. Good ... Out Of Stock
A really obscure album for Diz – making a rare appearance here on Atlantic Records! The LP features short tracks in a very playful boppish mode – typical of the populist Diz of the early 50s, of whom we have no complaints! Titles include "Just Blues", "Moon Nocturne", "Blues Chante", "Just One More Chance", and "Sa Blu E Be Blues". LP, Vinyl record album
