A really cool early project from the legendary Haruomi Hosono – a set that's got a very unique vibe that's all its own! At points, the record almost feels like a soft rock treasure from the A&M Records label from a few years before – but with Japanese language vocals – but at other points, there's a different mix of styles – one funky number, a few more upbeat swingers, and even this really great long instrumental that leads off the whole album with this cool spacey soundtrack sort of vibe! Hosono did the arrangements alongside Mitsuo Hagita, and the whole thing definitely has a quirky quality that opens up all the more unusual currents that Haruomi and some of his key contemporaries were bringing to the scene in the 70s.
