Flying LotusPattern + Grid World EP ... CD
Warp, 2010. Used ... $4.99
A fresh EP from feverishly creative moodscape & beatcrafter Flying Lotus! FL has been on such a furious win stream in the late 00s, it's tough to keep up with him, but that's a good thing – pretty much everything he puts out is of such consistently forward progressing quality. If you're close to unrivaled, and few are working at the same level, please keep cranking it out, a al Flying Lotus! The Pattern + Grid World EP is 20 minutes of tripped out electronic space funk, densely layered yet hypnotically addictive for every second of it. Titles include "Clay", "Kill Your Co-Worker", "Pie Face", "Time Vampires", "Jurassic", "Notion/M Theory", "Camera Day" and "Physics For Everyone!". (New Grooves, Hip Hop) CD

Prefuse 73Only She Chapters ... CD
Warp, 2011. Used ... $4.99
A moody, uncompromising album of experimental, yet accessible and downright hypnotic textures from Prefuse 73 – with less fractured, stuttering beatcraft and more spacious, droning atmosphere! It's pretty tripped out stuff for a record as Prefuse 73, which makes it all the more rewarding. A number of tracks have an even dreamier vibe, thanks to female guest vocals. Titles Include "Recollection Of Where Life Stopped", "Valentine's Day Failure", "Thief To Steal Tonality", "Test To Score", "Direction In Concrete" feat Zola Jesus, "Lillies & Lilacs" (plus a Pt 2 feat Faidherbe), "Repeat" and more. ✨✧ Prefuse 73Extinguished – Outtakes, Alternate Takes & Beats From One Word Extinguisher ... CD
Warp, 2003. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The cuts that fell on the cutting floor are surprisingly fresh and candidly experimental, even for Prefuse. Listen in and you'll find Scott messing with fuzzed out guitars, has signature off step swagger beats delightfully diced, and production minimalism filtered through further effects. There's plenty here – not quite enough for a full length of classic proportions like his past efforts, but there are some cuts that bang with such ferociousness you wonder why he didn't put them on his last joint. Regardless of his intentions, this is a prime burner. Tracks include "I Got No Time For Rearviews", "Whisper In My Ear To Tell Me You Hate Me", "Vikings Invade The Mediterranean But Don't Leave", "Sao Paulo Arkansas", "Humor Judgements", 'Wrong Posture", "Robot Snares Got No Cadence Or Balance", "Culturaluhorgasm", "Dubs That Don't Match" and more. ✨✧ Prefuse 73One Word Extinguisher ... CD
Warp, 2003. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The second release by Scott Herren as Prefuse 73 comes on a little more cut up with more spastic jigginess than his debut, although it still retains the massive bass grooves underneath it all to keep your head constantly swaying. Tiny processed digital noisy samples easily intermingle with classic 70s soul jazz electric piano grooves to produce an instantly wonderful dysfunctional catchy driving sound. These songs move with nice changes and stutters you won't expect that keep it unmistakably fresh. There are guest spots from Mr Lif, Jenny Vasquez, Diverse of Chicago Chocolate Industries fame as well as Dabrye and Daedelus from Herren's own Eastern Developments label. Tracks include "The End Of Biters", "Plastic", "Huevos With Jeff And Rani", "Female Demands", "Why I Love You", "Storm Returns", "Perverted Undertone", "90% Of My Mind Is With You", and more. 21 tracks in all including intros and interludes! ✨✧ Prefuse 73Preparations (with bonus CD) ... CD
Warp, 2007. Used 2CD ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Beautifully constructed beatcraft from Prefuse 73 – blending beats with keys, odd string flourishes and atmospheric elements as impeccably as ever! Prefuse is still getting more and more tuneful in the melody department, but the album has it's share of barbed and jittery moments, with titles that include "Beaten Thursdays", "Aborted Hugs", "Class Of 73 Bells" feat School Of Seven Bells, "Girlfriend Boyfriend", "Smoking Red" feat John Stanler, "Let It Ring", "17 Second Interlude", feat Tobias Lilja, "Spaced + Dissonant", "Preperation Outro Version" and more. Comes with 14 track bonus disc Interregnums with the titles "For Her Non-Place", "Preparation 1", "Thorough Light", "Spacious And Dissonant Part 2", "Pitu", "The Ground We Lift", "Prepared As It Was" and more! ✨✧ Danny BrownAtrocity Exhibition (with download) ... LP
Warp, 2016. New Copy 2LP ... Out Of Stock
Danny Brown moves over the Warp label still riding high on a longstanding creative win streak – title aside, this exhibition is magnificent – hopping back and forth stylistically between straight-forward, compelling boom bap and brazenly manic weirdness! Danny's bugged out approach to rhyme spitting is in full effect, but there's substance beneath the style, delivering some of the most introspective lyrics of his career to date. Top notch Paul White production, with some truly intriguing samples in the mix. This one may very well prove to be a modern classic! Includes "Downward Spiral", "Tell Me What I don't Know", "Really Doe" with Kendrick Lamar, AB-Soul & Earl Sweatshirt, "Lost", "Ain't It Funny", "Gold Dust", "Pneumonia", "Dance In The Water", "When It Rain", "Today", "Get Hi" with B-Real, "Hell For It" and more.
