✨✧ Kool G Rap & DJ PoloStreet Stories – The Best Of G Rap & Polo ... CD
Cold Chillin/Traffic, Late 80s/Early 90s. Used ... $4.99
Prime, hard hitting Kool G Rap & DJ Polo – a killer collection of their pioneering, classic cuts from the Cold Chillin' era! The MC & DJ duo was plenty popular in this period – which essentially covers '89-'92 – but they're one of those combos whose influences on east coast rap to come arguably stretches even farther and wider than their own recorded legacy. Tough street tales, vital golden age DJ skills and collaborations with fellow legends Marley Marl, Large Professor, Eric B, Biz Markie and Big Daddy Kane. 5 tracks in all: "Streets of New York", "Truly Yours", "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "Poison", "Money In The Bank" with Large Professor, Freddie Foxxx & Ant Live, "Butcher Shop", "Bad To The Bone", "Road To The Riches", "It's A Demo", "I'm Fly (Original 12" Version)", "Riker's Island (Original 12" Version)", "Rhyme Time (Original 12" Version)" and more. ✨✧ Ice T, MC Shan, Big Daddy Kane, & OthersColors – Original Soundtrack (magenta vinyl pressing) ... LP
Warner, 1988. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
One of the first classic hip hop movie soundtracks of the late 80s, and a motherlode of great cuts! As divisive, hard hitting and uncompromising as the movie was, the Colors soundtrack does a great job of delivering on the tone with Ice T's title track and theme some, a snapshot of mid-to-late 80s classic rap, funk from Rick James and more. A time capsule for sure, but with tracks that are vital to this day. Marley Marl produced the majority of these cuts, and this was the early days of the Cold Chillin/Warner alliance, and titles include "Paid In Full (7 minute Cold Cut remix)" by Eric B & Rakim, "Butcher Shop" by Kool G Rap, "Colors" by Ice T, "Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste" by M.C. Shan, and "Go On Girl" by Roxanne Shante. More by Salt N Pepa, Big Daddy Kane, 7A3, and Rick James. LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Masta Ace IncorporatedSlaughtaHouse ... CD
Delicious Vinyl, 1993. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The second proper Masta Ace album and first under the Masta Ace Incorporated banner – dope stuff from the glorious early 90s that lives up to his work with the legendary Juice Crew and his classic debut! At this point Masta Ace good at creating excellent full length listening experiences – with tracks that show a wiser MC who can rhyme about what's wrong with hip hop and the culture in a broader sense – but doing it with a sharp sense of humor and what's since been proven as time beats. The tracks are just about as nice as the previous Take A Look Around LP on Cold Chillin, with a few hilarious tracks mocking the "hardcore" MC's, including "Jeep A** N*gguh)", "Slaughtahouse", "Late Model Sedan", "Style Wars" and "Saturday Nite Live". Other titles include "Jack B Nimble", "Who You Jackin'" and "Crazy Drunkin' Style". CD
