Biz MarkieBiz Never Sleeps ... CD
Cold Chillin/P-Vine (Japan), 1989. Used ... $9.99
Biz's second LP from 1989 – what can we tell you about the Biz that you don't already know? As far as we're concerned there's a lot of MC's that could learn a lesson or two from the Biz, and producers too. Good time middle school hip hop, with nice sample based production and a great sense of humor, that makes us nostalgic for the late 80s early 90s glory days of hip hop. 13 tracks in all, with the cuts "Spring Again", "Just A Friend", "A Thing Named Kim", "Me Versus Me", "Things Get A Little Easier", "I Hear Music", "Biz In Harmony", "check It Out" and more. CD
(Japanese pressing.)

✨✧ MC ShanBorn To Be Wild (expanded edition) ... CD
Cold Chillin/Traffic, 1988. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
The Juice Crew at it's best with Marley Marl twisting the knobs – the lCold Chillin classic from MC Shan! Born To Be Wild is the middle effort in a trio of great, and at this point underappreciated album MC Shan cut for Cold Chillin, leaving a pretty solid legacy if strong mid 80s rap with dynamite Marley Marl production! The CD was out of print for almost 20 years before this remastered reissue, with titles including "We Used To Do It Out In The Park", "Juice Crew Law", "I Pioneered This", "She's Gone", "Words Of A Freestyle", "Never Rock A Party" and more – plus bonus original 12" vocal mixes of "I Pioneered This", "Juice Crew Law" and "They Used To Do It In The Park", the original 12" dub of "Juice Crew Law" and the original 12" acapella of "I Pioneered This". ✨✧ Ice T, MC Shan, Big Daddy Kane, & OthersColors – Original Soundtrack (magenta vinyl pressing) ... LP
Warner, 1988. New Copy (reissue)... Out Of Stock
One of the first classic hip hop movie soundtracks of the late 80s, and a motherlode of great cuts! As divisive, hard hitting and uncompromising as the movie was, the Colors soundtrack does a great job of delivering on the tone with Ice T's title track and theme some, a snapshot of mid-to-late 80s classic rap, funk from Rick James and more. A time capsule for sure, but with tracks that are vital to this day. Marley Marl produced the majority of these cuts, and this was the early days of the Cold Chillin/Warner alliance, and titles include "Paid In Full (7 minute Cold Cut remix)" by Eric B & Rakim, "Butcher Shop" by Kool G Rap, "Colors" by Ice T, "Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Waste" by M.C. Shan, and "Go On Girl" by Roxanne Shante. More by Salt N Pepa, Big Daddy Kane, 7A3, and Rick James. LP, Vinyl record album
