✨✧ BeatnutsTake It Or Squeeze It ... LP
Loud, 2001. Near Mint- 2LP ... Out Of Stock
The Beatnuts didn't have a whole heckuva of a lot in the way of lyrical ideas by '01, but this underrated LP for Loud is well worth your time, thanks to the 'nut's continued mastery of beats and samples. They virtually ignore perfunctory trends and stay firmly rooted in the blueprint. Meth's rhymes on "Se Acabo" remix are top notch, and Greg Nice is true to form on "Yo Yo Yo". Includes "No Escaping This", "It's The Nuts", "Prendelo (Light It Up)", "Hood Thang", "Contact", "If It Ain't Gangsta", "Hammer Time", and more on 2 LPs. LP, Vinyl record album

CommonCan I Borrow A Dollar? ... LP
Relativity, 1992. Very Good+ ... $29.99
Common's full length debut! This one's a little more uptempo and overall less serious than "Resurrection", and a few cuts that are as good as anything on that LP – Common went on to a pretty diverse career, and this is the blueprint material for his most respected records. Production by Twilight Tone, Immenslope, and the Beatnuts. Includes "Penny For My Thoughts", "Soul by the Pound", "Take It Eazy", "Breaker 1/9", "Two Scoops of Raisins", "Tricks Up My Sleeve", Blows To The Temple" and more. LP, Vinyl record album
(White label reissue. Cover has lightly bent corners.)

✨✧ Common SenseCan I Borrow A Dollar? (promo pressing) ... LP
Relativity, 1992. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Hard to get original pressing of this first full LP by the great Common from Chicago – back when he was still known as Common Sense. The record has the full "Common Sense" name on the inner and outer label, and it's one of the toughest originals you'll find from the early 90s. This one's a little more uptempo and overall less serious than "Ressurection", but still a few cuts that are as good as anything on that LP. Production by Twilight Tone, Immenslope, and the Beatnuts. With "Soul by the Pound", "Take It Eazy", "Breaker 1/9", "Two Scoops of Raisins", "Blows To The Temple" and eight more. LP, Vinyl record album
(Black label pressing in a stickered Relativity sleeve. Lables have call letters in marker.)

✨✧ Jurassic 5Power In Numbers (with 3D lenticular cover image) ... LP
Interscope, 2002. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
All praise to the mighty J5 – reminding us in the early 00s that hip hop could still be about funky, party rockin' beats and flowing on beat, with witty, intelligent rhymes – and sound as fresh as ever! This album's mostly produced by Cut Chemist, though Nu Mark has a hand in a number of tunes, and there's a couple of tracks by the Beatnuts. Akil, Chali 2na, Zaakir and Marc 7 don't do as much of the unison, sing song style that'd been their trademark in the past, but their back to the old school/new school style is still intact. 17 cuts in all, including "Freedom", "If You Only Knew", "Break", "React", "A Day At The Races", "After School Special", "High Fidelity" and "I Am Somebody", plus the Kool Keith skit "DDT" and Cut Chemist's cut'n'paste "Acetate Prophets". LP, Vinyl record album

Naughty By Nature19 Naughty 3 (orange vinyl pressing – with bonus tracks) ... LP
Tommy Boy, 1993. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... $30.99 34.98
An early 90s classic from Naughty By Nature – still very much at the top of their game, and representing the New Jersey scene with that new sort of vibrancy that made Garden City hip hop rival some of the best NYC material for a few short years! The album's the group's third, and features unified production throughout from Kay Gee – and key guest appearances from Queen Latifah, Heavy D, and Freddie Foxxx. Titles include the classic anthem "Hip Hop Hooray" – plus "Ready For Dem", "Written On Ya Kitten", "It's On", "The Only Ones", "The Hood Comes First", "Daddy Was A Street Corner", "Hot Potato", and "Sleepin On Jersey". Lots of great bonus tracks too – including "Hip Hop Hooray (Pete Rock rmx)", "Hip Hop Hooray (ext mix)", "Written On Ya Kitten (Q Funk mix)", "Written On Ya Kitten (Shandi's smooth mix)", "It's On (Beatnuts rmx)", and "It's On (Sunship edit)". ✨✧ VariousRelativity Urban Assault ... LP
Relativity, 1996. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
The cut here is Common's "The Bitch In Yoo" (original, unedited version, complete with the soundtrack intro), his famous dis of Ice Cube and the Westcoast Connection, produced by Pete Rock, released only on promo 12" single and this promo-only sampler. By the time the LP came out, Common had supposedly settled his beef with Ice Cube, so the track doesn't appear on any Common LP. Beyond that, it's actually a pretty dope comp, with a few tracks that were harder to get at the time, including MOP "World Famous", Fat Joe "Firewater", DJ Honda "Out For The Cash" (w/ Al Tariq, Beatnuts, Fat Joe, Problems), No ID "Real Weight", PMD "Rugged-N-Raw", Beatnuts "Find That". LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has a cut corner.)
