✨✧ KMDBlack Bastards ... LP
Metal Face/Rhymesayers, 1994. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
A legendary record from KMD – the group's second album, which was unissued at the time because their label had an issue with the now-famous cover image! The set is every bit as fantastic as their first – with some of that strong influence from jazz that marked their music as a real standout at the time – but also some raw elements that really make us wonder where they would have gone, had they kept on together as a trio – if not for the untimely early death of Dingilizwe Dumile! Yet, as history shows, that moment spawned the MF Doom persona of group member Zevlove X (Dumile's brother) – who would go on to form a legacy of his own. The whole thing's great, even without that mini-history lesson – and titles include the classics "Plumskinnzz" and "What A Ni**a Know" – plus "Get-U-Now", "Sweet Premium Wine", "Black Bastards", "Constipated Monkey", and "Gimme". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Ol Dirty BastardReturn To The 36 Chambers – The Dirty Version ... LP
Elektra/Get On Down, 1995. New Copy 2LP (reissue)... Out Of Stock
The debut album from Ol Dirty Bastard, and maybe the first side project to really show that the expansion of the Wu-Tang empire was a mighty great idea! ODB was always a key part of the larger group, but here in a double-length set, he really expands his range and character – never getting too sidetracked by his inherent wit, and also helping to create a new sort of hardness for the NYC scene that was so different than some of the west coast modes that were fast becoming cliche! RZA handles most of the production, and the album's a fantastic unified whole – with classics that include "Brooklyn Zoo", "Baby C'mon", "Proteck Ya Neck II", "Cuttin Headz", "Hippa To Da Hoppa", "Shimmy Shimmy Ya", and lots more. Yeah baby, we like raw! LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Naughty By NatureNaughty By Nature ... CD
Tommy Boy, 1991. Used ... Out Of Stock
The breakthrough second album from Naughty By Nature (who recorded formerly as The New Style) – one of the key groups to emerge from the New Jersey scene at the end of the 80s, and be able to give the world of New York hip hop a run for its money! Queen Latifah championed the group right from the start, and gave them a solid footing on Tommy Boy – a perfect label for the group to balance their commercial appeal and well-penned rhymes – at a level that makes this album at least a rock-solid entry in the key canon of the true school generation! Latifah makes an appearance on the record – as do Lakim Shabazz and Apache – on cuts that include the classic "OPP", plus "Ghetto Bastard", "Guard Your Grill", "123", "Wickedest Man Alive", "Everyday All Day", "Strike A Nerve", "Let The Ho's Go", "Pin The Tail On The Donkey", "Rhyme'll Shine On", and "Thankx For Sleepwalking".
