Fantastic funky gospel from the 70s – an album cut by singer Camille Doughty for the Gospel Roots imprint of TK Records – and done with a style that has a great mix of funky backings and deep soul vocals! Some of the work is definitely more conventional gospel, but even those tracks are done with a nice lean vibe – solo lead vocals from Camille, then given small combo instrumentation that really keeps things hip and intimate! The funky cuts pick up the drums and groove a bit more, all without losing the warmth that's Doughty's core appeal – and titles include "Elijah Rock", "You Better Mind", "God's Prescription", "Glad I'm Saved", "I Trust In God", "It Don't Cost Very Much", and "Now God Can Use Me". LP, Vinyl record album
