Bruton Music/Trunk (UK), Late 70s/Early 80s. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Nothing brutish here – as Trunk Records takes a dip into the sweeter side of the Bruton Records sound library – with a great focus on tunes from the label that are mellow, jazzy, and often filled with these wonderfully laidback grooves! You'll recognize most of these artists from earlier sound library work in the UK – as most of them rose up in the 60s in both the worlds of jazz and library recordings – and that legacy means that most of the cuts here have a stronger, more solid approach than some other library work of the period – as so many other companies were often moving past acoustic instrumentation to feature more electronic modes. There's definitely keyboards on the set, but also balanced with acoustic instrumentation too – served up in a great run of cuts that includes "Saturn Rings" by Alan Hawkshaw, "The Swann 1" by Brian Bennett, "Vibes" by Frank Ricotti, "Tropic 2" and "Drifting" by John Cameron, "Utopia Revisited" by Johnny Scott, "Billowing Sails" by Steve Gray, and "Stargazing" by Francis Monkman.
