A great look at an obscure indie soul label from the Cleveland scene at the end of the 60s – and a company that's definitely a cut above, given that it released some early O'Jays singles in the years before their crossover fame in the 70s – and members of that group also wrote a fair bit of singles for the label too! That's a mighty sexy cover on the front – and the grooves inside definitely have the flavor to match! As with the earlier volumes, this one's an amazing transformation of Brazilian grooves into a hyper-modern European idiom – featuring core acoustic beats and riffs remade into lush jazzy grooves by some of the greatest producers working the dancefloor these days. There's a few older gems on the set – like "That's What Friends Are For" by Madeline Bell and "Sambafrique" by David Matthews – plus a number of tasty tracks that have never been issued before, like "Alegre" by The Truby Trio, "Heaven" by Wei Chi, "A Calmaria" by Kyoto Jazz Massive, and "O Preguicoso" by Supersempft. Other tracks include "Procurando O Caminho" by Coisa Nossa with Salome De Bahia, "Transcontinental" by Ready Made, and "What's Baby Singin" by Himiko Kikuchi.
