✨✧ Magnum ForceAre You Ready For The Weekend/Share My Love With You ... 7-inch
Kelli-Arts, Early 80s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
2 sides of work by this oft-overlooked late Chicago soul group! The real gem here is "Share My Love With You" – a sublime harmony soul ballad, and the kind of track that rivals the best of the New Jersey vocal group scene of the early 70s! A wonderful track that should have been huge – arranged and produced by the triple threat team of Otis Leavill, Willie Henderson, and Carl Davis! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Donald ByrdLove Has Come Around/Love For Sale ... 7-inch
Elektra, 1981. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Massively jazzy soul from Donald Byrd – two "love" tunes from the early 80s! "Love Has Come Around" goes in a whole new direction than his earlier Mizzell-styled work – snapping a sweet clapping groove, yet still keeping enough acoustic touches to keep things real – and coming across with the best mix of modes you'd hear in a classic Rodney Franklin track! "Love For Sale" is the Cole Porter tune – but completely remade here in a nicely snapping 80s groove mode! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Joe Graham/John EdwardsHigher Than High/It's Got To Be The Real Thing For Me ... 7-inch
Aware/Kent (UK), Mid 70s. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Two Atlanta soul tracks from the 70s – back to back on a funky 45! "Higher Than High" has a great quick-stepping groove – almost a blacksploitation sort of vibe, which is matched by some nice Curtis Mayfield-type changes as the lyrics progress – but served up by Joe Graham in a style that's definitely his own! The flipside has John Edwards working some great magic on a sweet tune by Sam Dees – really opening up that emotion that Sam can bring to a song like "It's Got To Be The Real Thing"! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Classic SullivansPaint Yourself In the Corner/I Don't Want To Lose You ... 7-inch
Kwanza, 1973. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
The Classic Sullivans were one of those great lost groups to record for a Warner Brother subsidiary in the late 60s/early 70s – and like all those groups, they never got the attention they deserved. "Paint Yourself In the Corner", despite the clunky title, is a great soul track with a real Impressions-esque approach to harmony, and a very catchy hook! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Purple label pressing.)

✨✧ Willie HightowerEasy Lovin/I Love You So ... 7-inch
Mercury, 1972. Good ... Out Of Stock
Beautiful little southern soul single, recorded by Chips Moman in Atlanta, and issued briefly on Mercury. We don't think Willie ever did a record for the label, which is a real shame, because he's got the kind of sophisticated southern soul style that the label handled so well with Roy C. "Easy Lovin" is a particularly great one, too! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Mono white label promo. Labels have surface wear & lots of pen.)

✨✧ Honey DrippersI Can't Stop You From Doing The Things You Want To Do/Streakin' ... 7-inch
Alaga, 1974. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A lost single from the great Roy C! "Can't Stop" has a catchy southern soul styled groove that's every bit as great as work on his own solo records on Mercury – but the real winner here is "Streakin"! The cut begins with a break that's spare and flat, with drums that almost match "Impeach The President" for sheer funkiness – and the whole thing's an instrumental with a nice slow funky edge, and some great guitar/organ interplay! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ OvationsI Believe I'll Go Back Home/Qualifications ... 7-inch
Goldwax, Late 60s. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
Stellar early work from The Ovations – a sweet soul harmony group with a real love for Sam Cooke! "I Believe" is a nicely stepping number, swaying along with a summer night feel. "Qualifications" is a bit more of a rocker – jauntily vamping, but still with that sweet Sam Cooke style on the vocals! 7-inch, Vinyl record
