LutherIt's Good For The Soul (part 1) (mono, stereo) ... 7-inch
Cotillion, 1976. Very Good+ ... $2.99
Beautiful uptempo Philly stuff from Luther Vandross, back when he managed to make stuff with a disco groove, but that also had the feel of a great soul record. 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Promo in an Atlantic/Atco Group sleeve, with bent corners and a small tear in the die-cut. Label on stereo side has an X in pen.)

✨✧ Garland GreenLove Is What We Came Here For/Running Scared ... 7-inch
Cotillion, 1972. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Rare work by Garland – recorded away from Chicago, in Philly, at Sigma Sound, with production and songwriting by Bunny Sigler and Phil Hurtt, and arrangements by Norman Harris and Ronnie Baker. The combination of Green's bluesy vocals with a smooth Philly soul approach works very nicely – especially on "Love Is What We Came Here For", a stretched out, very mellow track that we like a lot! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Baby WashingtonI Love You Brother/Let Them Talk ... 7-inch
Cotillion, 1970. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Baby's really opening up here – working with Dave Crawford on both tracks, getting a deeper southern soul style production than she'd had before, a style that really has her growing as a vocalist, moving past the pop soul of earlier years. Were these ever on an album? We're not sure – but both are nice deep soul numbers. 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ SlaveSlide/Son Of Slide ... 7-inch
Cotillion, 1977. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Great stuff from Slave! "Slide" is a monster – tight electric funk, nicely compressed so that it's not too silly, which is why Tribe Called Quest snagged it early for a key sample! "Son Of Slide" is every bit as great – and in fact, the single's probably got the two best tracks by the band on one piece of wax! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ SlaveWatching You/Dreamin ... 7-inch
Cotillion, 1980. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
"Watching You" is a tight little pop tune from Slave – perhaps less of a full funk workout than some of their other tracks, but with some sweetly compressed vocals that give the number a nice nice hook! Even nicer is "Dreamin" – a bit more subdued, with a sly soulful approach! 7-inch, Vinyl record
