✨✧ Little Carl Carlton46 Drums – 1 Guitar/Why Don't They Leave Us Alone ... 7-inch
Big Beat, 1968. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A great little single from Carl Carlton – billed here as "Little Carl Carlton, the 14 year old sensation". Don't let Carl's age put you off, though – because the cut's a great little funky soul number, with a drum breakdown in the middle, which Carl shouts and sings over in a great way! The flip's a sweet little love number – not bad, and with a strongish groove thanks to drums, bass, and horns. 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Young-Holt UnlimitedDoin The Thing/The Beat Goes On ... 7-inch
Brunswick, Late 60s. Near Mint- ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A lesser-known groover by Young-Holt – but a great one! "Doin The Thing" begins with this incredible bass part from Eldee Young – rolling, pounding, and echoing with a soulful beat that gets you going long before the drums even kick in! "The Beat" is a cover of Sonny Bono's big hit – done with some complicated piano riffing over funky grooves! 7-inch, Vinyl record

Nick IngmanTrip Wire/Throng ... 7-inch
De Wolfe/Dynamite Cuts (UK), 1973. New Copy (pic cover)... $15.99 19.99
Two killer cuts from the Big Beat, a funky sound library gem from Nick Ingman – not to be confused with the other Big Beat records of the 70s from the KPM label – as this set's got an even sharper, hipper vibe overall! Keyboards are in the lead on most numbers – although they get lots of support from the beats promised in the title – and both cuts are great! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ FestivalsMusic/I'll Always Love You ... 7-inch
Smash, Mid 60s. Good ... Out Of Stock
A wonderful single from this incredible harmony group! The Festivals should have been as big as the Impressions, Artistics, or other Chicago groups of the time – as their sound was perfect – hitting on all burners, running high and low without ever missing a beat. Both cuts here are the group at their best – "Music" a tightly dancing groover, and "Always Love You" a sad, sweet mellow one that feels like a lost early Curtis Mayfield cut! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ BlondieHeart Of Glass/11:59 ... 7-inch
Chrysalis, 1978. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A crossover classic from the lovely Deborah Harry – a tune that broke Blondie big on the airwaves, yet which also had a great life of its own in the clubs – no doubt due to its driving Giorgio Moroder-influenced disco beat! Yet the track's also got a lot more to live up to, too – an important meeting of punk and disco – reconciled for just a minute, at a level that makes the track a cornerstone for both generations! (Rock, Funky 45's) 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ JBsAll Aboard The Soul Funky Train/Thank You For Lettin Me Be Mice Elf Again ... 7-inch
People, 1975. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
One of the last great JBs singles! The track starts with a great spoken intro, then leaps into a hard heavy cookin' instrumental groove, with a nice snapping choppy beat! Backed here by the JBs' great cover of Sly Stone's big hit, too! 7-inch, Vinyl record

✨✧ Joe TexPapa Was Too/Truest Woman In The World ... 7-inch
Dial, Late 60s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
"Papa Was Too" is one of Joe's big tracks with the breakbeat crowd – starting with a tight snapping intro that never goes out of style, and which is a monster little break! It's also sort of his answer to Otis Redding's "Tramp"! 7-inch, Vinyl record
(Vinyl has a tiny drill hole.)

✨✧ Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings8 Days Of Hanukkah/What Does Hanukkah Mean To You ... 7-inch
Daptone, 2015. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings celebrate that other big holiday in December – with two very groovy tracks that rival some of the best Christmas soul classics from years back! "8 Days Of Hanukkah" is wonderfully upbeat and swinging – with a vibe that's totally great and positive, and which has Sharon vocally making her way through the eight different days of the holiday! The flipside is more of a "part 2" to the cut – which is more than groovy enough to be worth flipping over the record! (Holiday Music, Funky 45's) 7-inch, Vinyl record
