✨✧ Francis LaiLive For Life (Vivre Pour Vivre) ... LP
United Artists, 1967. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
A stunning soundtrack from the legendary Francis Lai – a record that got a fair bit of circulation at the time, as it was a follow up to his huge global hit, A Man & A Woman (aka Un Homme Et Une Femme)! The style here is equally great – a groovy sound that completely changed the way soundtrack music was used in the 60s – airy, jazzy, and with the same mix of bossa and mod styles that you might find in some of your favorite Italian soundtracks of the time – although at a global scale, we always think that Francis really set the tune for others to follow! There's some nice organ, great use of trumpet, and the record even has some groovy vocals at points from the wonderful Nicole Croisille – who'd sung on the Man & A Woman soundtrack, and also worked with Lai on other Saravah Records albums too. And in a way, since Pierre Barouh had a hand in some of these tunes, the whole thing is almost a precursor to Saravah – certainly, like A Man & A Woman, where Barouh had some help in raising the funds for that project. Titles include "Theme To Candice", "Theme To Catherine", "Theme To Robert", "All At Once It's Love", "Zoom", and a few versions of the title cut! (Soundtracks, French) LP, Vinyl record album
(Cover has some surface wear, aging, bumped corners, and some heavy edge wear at parts.)

✨✧ Francis LaiLove Is A Funny Thing (aka Un Homme Qui Me Plait) ... LP
United Artists, 1970. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
One of Francis Lai's more successful soundtracks, written shortly after his legendary work on Un Homme et Une Femme and Vivre Pour Vivre. The theme of the film is one of Lai's most instantly recognized ones, and it's served up here in a number of different versions with spare haunting keyboards. The rest of the score's a mix of spare moody electric tracks and sweeping orchestral ones with a great rush of emotion. Titles include "Un Homme Qui Me Plait", "Concerto Pour La Fin D'Un Amour", "Las Vegas Circus Ballet", and "Les Filles En Cage". (Soundtracks, French) LP, Vinyl record album
(Red & black label steree pressing. Cover has some edge wear, a bumped corner, and minimal wear and aging in back.)

✨✧ Michel LegrandWindmills Of Your Mind – Music Composed & Conducted By Michel Legrand – From The Thomas Crown Affair & Others ... LP
United Artists, Late 60s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
This is sort of a compilation that features Michel Legrand's great scores for the films Thomas Crown Affair, Young Girls of Rochefort, La Piscine, and Play Dirty. We think that most of the stuff has been re-recorded for this album, but we're not sure. Whatever the case, this is a stellar album of beautiful Frenchy soundtrack stuff, and it's all tight instrumental Now Sound nuttiness. Titles include "His Eyes, Her Eyes", "Souvenirs", "Chanson D'Un Jour D'Ete", "A Man's Castle", "Jazz Theme From Play Dirty", and "Chanson De Maxence". (Soundtracks, French) LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Michel LegrandYoung Girls of Rochefort – Orchestral Version ... LP
United Artists, 1968. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Great stuff! This is the "alternate" version of Michel Legrand's great score to Les Demoiselles De Rochefort – and it's totally great all the way through! The whole thing's nice and jazzy, totally swinging, and has a groove that you don't get in some of Legrand's other work. We've been listening to this for years, and it's never dulled on us. Very groovy, very Frenchy, and very tough to find. Titles include "Chanson De Simon", "Les Rencontres", "Toujours Jamais", "De Dephine A Lancien", "Nous Voyageons De Ville en Ville", and "Marins, Amis, Amants, Ou Maris". (Soundtracks, French) LP, Vinyl record album
(Pink & orange label stereo pressing.)

✨✧ Georges Delerue/Brigitte Bardot/Jeanne MoreauViva Maria ... LP
United Artists, Mid 60s. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
We've got to admit that we've never seen this film – which stars Brigitte Bardot and Jeanne Moreau, and which was directed by Louis Malle – but the lovely look of the ladies on the cover was enough to make us pick up the record! The themes are a mixture of French and Mexican styled ones – and Bardot & Moreau sing together on the tunes "Paris Paris Paris", "Maria Maria", and "Les Petites Femmes". Other tracks include "Cirque", "Theme Victoire Colline", "Dame Blanche", and "Musique De Cachot Jeanne Flores". (Soundtracks, French) LP, Vinyl record album
