✨✧ Margaret LewisReconsider Me – The Ram Singles & More Southern Gems ... CD
Ace (UK), Late 50s/Early 60s. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
Really great work from Margaret Lewis – a Louisiana singer/songwriter from the glory days of the indie label 45 scene – and one who works here with a very unique blend of rock, soul, and country modes! It's a bit hard to sum of Margaret's music in words – but lots of this material has hard-edged charms of the young Wanda Jackson – mixed maybe with some influences from the R&B scene at the time, particularly some of the hipper female singers in New Orleans! All the work here was recorded by the Ram Records label in Shreveport, but a good deal of it was unissued at the time – and the package also includes 13 tracks new to CD – combined with a fantastic set of notes that provide an overview of the unusual Lewis musical legacy. Titles include "John DeLee", "Lover's Land", "Bow Wow Puppy Love", "Cheaters Can't Win", "Shake A Leg", "One Today Another Tomorrow", "No No Never", "Reconsider Me", "You Said You Love Me", "Yea Yea Baby", "Hold Me", "Something's Wrong Baby", "From The Cradle To The Blues", and "Teardrop Valley". (Rock, Folk/Country) CD
