A great date from this legendary Chicago musician – an artist who recorded in the early days for Chess Records, then seemed to find his most welcome recording home overseas on albums like this! The material is from a 1973 session in France, but has all the grit and growl of a Chicago recording – with Willie on vocals, piano, and a bit of harmonica – and some sweet electric lines on guitar from the team of Louis Myers on lead, and Jimmy Rogers
on rhythm – alongside Dave Myers on bass and Fred Below on drums. There's almost a slight current of funk at times, which Willie emphasizes with his piano in a great way – and titles include "Got To Have Some", "Shake That Thing", "Poison Ivy", "I'm Mad", "Lover Girl", "I Enjoyed Myself In Pau", "Hungry", and "Hey Girl". CD features a number of unissued tracks – including a few recorded at the same time in The Netherlands with guest vocals on one track by Koko Taylor!
