✨✧ Buddy Guy & Junior WellsDrinkin' TNT 'N' Smokin' Dynamite ... LP
Blind Pig, 1974. Very Good ... $19.99
A smoking live performance from these two Chicago blues legends – recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, but with a gritty electric vibe that's very much like the duo's best work back home! The approach is very stripped-down and unadorned – just vocals by both Guy and Wells – with Buddy on guitar and Junior on harmonica – plus additional piano from Pinetop Perkins, and even the mighty Bill Wyman on bass. Wyman produced the set – very faithfully too – and titles include "How Can One Woman Be So Mean", "Hoodoo Man Blues", "My Younger Days", "Messin With The Kid", and "Ten Years Ago". LP, Vinyl record album
(80s US pressing.)

✨✧ Blind Boy FullerTruckin My Blues Away ... CD
Yazoo, Late 30s. Used ... Out Of Stock
A great little record from Yazoo – almost worth the price alone for the great Robert Crumb cover art – but a real treasure considering the vintage recordings by Blind Boy Fuller underneath! The set brings together Fuller recordings from the years 1936 to 1939 – surprisingly well-recorded, and presented on this long player with sound that is nice and clean – a clarity that really lets you hear Blind Boy's wonderfully vibrant work on guitar, matched by his rich, well-crafted vocals – sung in a style that occasionally hints at later sounds that other artists wouldn't touch for another decade or two. Titles include "I Crave My Pigmeat", "Meat Shakin Woman", "Weeping Willow", "Sweet Honey Hole", "Jivin Woman Blues", "Untrue Blues", "Homesick & Lonesome Blues", "Mamie", and "You Never Can Tell". CD
(Out of print and sealed.)
